i didnt have any problems until about a week ago. i got a leak in the header right at the flange, if i where you i would just go with a quality header like the RRM unit ive heard of several people doing well with them.

Some people have done fine with them while others say they are junk. Lots of mixed opinions out there. That's all I can say as I don't have an opinion except for this...

If there is one thing I have learned in all my life -- it's that you get what you pay for.

You pay cheeseburger and fries money - you get a cheeseburger and fries. You pay steak and lobster money - you get a steak and lobster.

Sure they'll both do the job and either way you'll be full at the end of the meal. However, the matter of which one is "better" and whether you got your money's worth is purely subjective.

-----------

Now forget eveything I said. All of this has very little to do with materials grade and crafstmanship. Do a web search and find hard facts on how often these things break and compare these numbers to the more alternative brands. Also, see if any of them offer a guarantee or warranty or any sort. Good luck.

A lot of the threads against them are based upon the old header and downpipe which was just a mirage header branded for a lancer and it leaked because the downpipe wouldnt mate properly.

That issue has been fixed and the one now selling on ebay fits perfectly and looks quality.

To bring this back, I plan on getting these headers just so that I have a cheap header until I figure out where to go on either the RRM header or turbo. I have been looking and I see on ebay that there are 2 different OBX headers for the lancer. One looks like it has a shorter DP than the other. Does anyone know which of these fits best?
Long DP
Short DP

I remember that the 02-03 Lancer exhaust is a bit shorter than the 04+, and that's why I couldn't get a full catback for an 03. Then the OBX sellers have 02-03 on the short DP and 02-06 on the longer one. Do you think these people actually know that the longer one would fit the 04+?

Looks like the Long DP one is ment for the Cat Converter Delete because looking at all the pics on both auctions I see that the long DP has an O2 bung welded in and the short DP does not.

Wouldn't the short down pipe be for 02-03 because the cat is seperate from the down pipe. The long down pipe would be 04-07 because the cat and down pipe are all the same piece. Does that make sense to everyone else or just me...
