Can you order a non-pzev in NY???

When I found out that NY was a California Emissions state I was not too thrilled...HP is down from 152 to 143...Does anyone know the exact run down of Pzev states??? Would it be possible to obtain an out of state car to dodge the emissions nonsense??? Thanks...the whole thing is really dumb ... why would I want to buy a car with 10 percent less hp?

LEV standards are required in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermontk I believe, but they are planning to add more. I wouldn't doubt that it becomes a national thing after a while. Maybe we should do something about that darned Global Warming!

1. It's to keep the air cleaner

2. You won't be able to pass state inspections

The inconvient thruth is that Mars is showing the same so called global warming effect that we have here on earth...global warming is perhaps a bunch of fiction..fact is that all this stone trowing is politcally motivated...ie...those dasterdy republicans and their big business are ruining the earth...if NY has set up a system of green > HP/TQ I will opt for a better deal. ...I do not yet have a Lancer... The PZEV is just some postering anyway...some certain percentage of an auto line must be PZEV in order the the manufacturer to be compliant...Is there any reason I could not buy an out of state car ... then take it home ... I mean not ALL cars are PZEV so I don't see why it would not pass inspection ... who the hell would let this happen???? Living in California is one thing ... but how did we let such intrusionisim leak to the North East??? Something to think about...

Maybe it is fictitious that Mars is showing global warming as well? Did you personally measure the temperature? Or is that whole tale the work of a Ford rep who wants to keep selling his 10mpg Excursions that shoot a black cloud out the back when the fat republican with the curly white mustache and the Family Manor in the southeast that used to be a plantation hits the gas?

New York has the same smog and pollution problems as Cali does, doesn't it?

And I don't think it is a "You bought this car in new york so it has to be compliant" law as much as it is a "You bought this car in 2007 and want to drive it in New York so it has to be compliant" law.

You could always buy one out of state and sneak it in, but if you happen to get pulled over and they check it, I'm sure that you are going to face the fines or impound that someone who obtained the car in-state would. If that weren't the case, why would they bother to write the law?

HOWEVER, it might be along the same lines as all the "removes 99.9% of bacteria and pollutants from your air/water/bed/bathtub/life" kick people are on. We've survived for this long with that 99.9% of that **** in our bodies, why do we have to take it out so badly now?

I don't think our law makers are quite that gullable, though. I hope not.

"some certain percentage of an auto line must be PZEV in order the the manufacturer to be compliant.."

I just re-read this. Are you saying that it is a manufacturer-side law and not a consumer side-law? If that is the case, then you can probably go through with your plan.

I was under the impression that all drives had to make sure their cars had emissions that met the standards if they were manufactured after a certain year.

Forgive me if I was mistaken, I live in Arizona. lol
