I've narrowed it down to 3 choices on which exhaust I'll be buying at the end of the week. I'll either go with the Greddy Evo2 or the Titanium. Or the next option will be to get an HKS muffler and go custom. I have a 3" DP and boosted at 8psi. I'm also currently running a 2.25" testpipe. My current exhaust system is also custom but only 2.25" all the way. Should I go 3" all the way? Which would be the best exhaust for my setup? My considering factors would be cost and power gains.

 

HKS is a nice exhaust but will be louder than greddy. I would do 2.5" exhaust. If I go turbo I am just going to stay with 2.25" exhaust even though I will be losing some top end HP. Keep the 2.25" testpipe, but adapt it to 2.5" piping. That way it will keep a little back pressure for you. I have never heard an HKS muffler on a lancer but if it was on other cars such as supra's etc. I would go HKS all day. Just make sure you get a real one and not an ebay knockoff.

 

2.5" will be fine, unless you're looking to increase the boost down the road. I personally have the Evo II and I love the sound!

 

i had the hks hi-power on my integra and i loved it on WOT. plus the upwards tilted tail-pipe looked cool. the teg was all-motor...turbo is another story. how big are the greddy catbacks i listed above? 2.5"?

 

eventually i will...maybe 11 or even 16 depending on if i decide to do block work.
