What a waste of money on NA car... if your stumbling at idle something is wrong... especially if your NA. I know i had to adjust a few things on TB when i made some mods... this isn't common but i experienced some unusaul things like idling/hesitation problems. I've got the books though and adjusted how they said to all was fine. As for using this on a tubo setup good luck... I don't know about RPW but RRM's FMU is special. It's not the common ratios you think... RRM specifically has them modified for their kit. Get to small of one and bye bye motor. Get to big of one and bye bye power as you'll be pig rich. The ratio is RRM proprietary info so you'll be hit or miss with this. Also the FMU comes with kit so why source out something that may be wrong. Airline you have the same car as me... if you want pm me and i'll give you info on how to adjust TB to so you can get rid of FMU... possibly sell or trade for something usefull. If not well then at least it works for you. Just don't try boosting on it without a stand alone and AFR meters or you're looking for trouble. Stand alone will allow you to adjust in for FMU hopefully... if not too small or too large! PM me if you'd like!

RPW's fuel regulator is a 1.7:1 rising rate regulator. you can adjust the fuel pressure by turning a screw on the top of it. i really dislike the vortech FMU's because of their stupid calibration ring and disk. the regulator i got you can set it to whatever calibration you want and don't need to take it apart and get a different ring and disk like the vortech. i guess thats just personal preference tho.

Since this is my thread Im going to tell the RRM pitchman to shut his pie hole. If you are so smart than why is your entire setup manufactured and "tuned" by someone else? Proprietary my a-hole its a Vortech FMU period. If you want something other that the set ratios its called a bleeder on the vacuum line. I didnt know RRM had the worldwide patent on that, they must be rich. And you must be too they way you push their products. Who are you to say the aftermarket FMU doesn't hold back more gas than the stock? If I lived in california I would drive over to your house and show you what happens when you use the stock regulator, takes maybe 5 mins. I verified the difference this afternoon when I made the pics for the how to. Car immeadiately idles like trash when it reaches normal temp. Connect the FMU back up and, the car is already at running temp, instant improvement, not perfect but a lot better.

As far as a waste of money well Im not making any horsepower claims from it, I know what it is for and I am collecting the other parts I need to finish my DIY turbo. FMU is for turbo but you dont need turbo to put it on, same with my new cooling fan, preparation. You will see the progression of my setup as I get stuff done right here on evom.net

The real point of the how to is to give people with a spark of creativity/individuality/non-RRM conformism something to work with in hopes of creating their own piece of work.

BTW Im not really dissing RRM, the first priority of a business is to make money and they sure are doing that well. I am dissing the people who offer RRM as the solution to everything. I am not alone either. Im tired of people who dont know **** from shinola plastering RRMs name all over threads and pretending they have first hand knowledge. When it was RRM who told them how to do everthing. People shouldn't get flamed for doing something different.

ya im sick of rrm being the vender that everyone recommends, dont get me wrong there cool and im always down there when they throw a bash, but the shamless plugs shouldnt be in EVERY thread. and btw ive had a AEM HONDA CIVIC fuel pressure regulator, while my car was N/A it does make a difference, expecially at the higher rpm. and the lower torque range. My $0.02

Any more of this better continue in PM's. Again, avb, thanks for the install thread. I'm sure many will find it very useful.

What really gets me is you made a good install thread. Then you say i'm selling RRM where am i doing that. I'm saying using this with their kit and possibly RPW's may have problems as you mentioned boosting on it later when you upgrade. Then i go on to tell you how to boost on it safely anyways by ensuring you have stand alone. I even offer to assist you so you won't need it. Your on the wrong foot on this one. That being said you still did an excellent write up on the install. The pics are really great and will benefit those who perform this install.

Hobie... you said pm on this but you can't expect an attack like that to go undefended on public forum. Now i said my peace and anything further will be in pm's. I do still think this is a good install guide but to threaten me when i offer assistance and to say i don't know as RRM installed/tuned for me is just to far out there. Guess who made the Turbo map for the lancer ecu... me! guess who did his own install...me! Guess who... well you see where i'm coming from.

If i came off wrong AVB, my bad, just don't want to see people doing something i don't think they should. Trying to protect site members as well as assist AVB. Nuff said on this.

Its one size smaller than what the other vacuum tubing is that goes to the top of the pressure regulator.
