Ground wires?

So I'm kind of new to this whole scene, just wondering what the grounding wire kits do for the lancer? I've seen how to install them and where to install them, but still don't really know what they do. Anyone wanna answer my question? sorry if it's stupid.

For the most part they help by keeping your lights from dimming when you roll down your windows and whatnot. No power to be gained. For more, please use advanced search.

Thanks guys, yeah seems like a waste of time/money to me. I just thought maybe it would smooth out the idle or maybe help with the little bit of dimming lights when the bass hits. Thanks for the answers.

Exactly what Hardcore used! Tsunami wire, just pre-cut and terminal'd for the Lancer.

It never hurts. It really depends on the car. No two cars are exactly the same. Some cars come from the factory with iffy grounding. Some cars develop electrical problems over time.

I've had grounding kits on my last two cars. Never noticed much of a difference, but it's a cheap thing to do. And if it does help, then all the better.

The dimming lights is due to the extra current draw during the bass 'hit'. Try a few capacitors to balance out the system to your amp. They will provide the needed current when your amp draws more (like during the bass 'hit').

hope this helps.
