~~~ Project Dark Horse - 08 Dual Exhaust
if you made a nice rear lip kit that mounts to the whole rear bumper and goes over the top of the original cutout so that it is unnoticed and have the new one with perfectly positioned cutouts for the exhaust then i bet you would have a lot more people interested. especially with a turbo on that as well, that would sound nice.
Your gonna love it, turn your bass up, turn that subwoofer up too.
this is the start up from couple of yards away, then i reverse up to the camera bit , then drive away, low speed to across the street, turn around and drive towards.
The exhaust procasts but to me its not overly agreesive, but I think i made an understandment when i said it was 6 out of 10 loudness. maybe a full 7.5
Tell me what you think.
I am currently uploading the file to my server so if it doesnt work right away give it 10 minutes, its a 17 meg file
had to preserve the quality for audio
Here is most likely the final pipe design out of 4 different configurations. Oddly enough it was a tight turn / wider pipe at the turn that yielded the best low to mid end performance. and for a CVT , that is might good news.
My first guess was that a cut in the pipe at the axle would have yield better numbers but it didnt in the low end.
lol Dont worry the pipes will not look like that in the final design. But when you have so many pipe configurations you just cut weld cut weld so many friggin times.
The final pipe will be one clean stainless steel pipe. and will shake out any pipe warps.
And i love that wonderful blue goo, looks like the cuts of a beast.
The design pipe+muffler is being sent to Japan for some testing, details on that I cant share cause i dont know who my contact over there is going to try to deal with. I wish i had the resources to do it in the USA but the few Big brand companies I approached gave me the same line, "we are in final stages of R&D, thank you come again." lol
so I got off my *** and done it myself, with alot of help from friends here and a friend in Japan.
I havent thought of retail selling, its a project right now, that and alot of stuff are on the burner. lol its cooking slow but its cooking
The intake manifold for air delivery flow is something I am looking at getting into.
To answer your last question, I think you were asking if the same piping work for for a single exhaust, yes it would if i understand you correctly. But the size and type of muffler would need to be perfect. From what i am told, straight thrus are not a good option.
But before i do anything, I am going to get dynos straight from the shop as soon as we have a Stock Car and another Exhaust for comparing sake. Still looking for a shop to allow unlimited pulls for a decent flat rate. there is one but its mega far. Looking for one close to Toronto.
Sorry guys for now I am only one man with 2 hands, 3 wives, 4 cars, and 5 dollars in my pocket . lol joking but the first 2 things are the truth. and the 5 dollars
update, I might be heading over to japan to headup a related project. I cant go till i get my passport in order But looking forward to that.
Another suggestion I wanted to make for those doing radical exhaust upgrades is to swap your spark plugs out just before or just after you do it. Write down your milage and study how your plug were wearing under stock condition and monitor its effects on your new plugs for the same milage distance. different exhaust packages will have different effects on your engine, making it run more lean, or more rich. just because you dont have a Check engine light, doesnt mean all is well in engine combustion land.
something to think about
