Slow compared to a Viper sure, but they're a real upgrade from the previous model.

4G94 - glacier
4B11 - tree slug

See? Much faster now.

OK, just kidding. But the 2008 is undeniably faster. It's a much more enjoyable experience.

not to bring up anything off topic but i couldnt help it. but its not far off. But when you look at the Lancer 08 compared to previous cars you really get the sense that Mitsu pulled out all the stops and built a good car for the platform. but when you look at the EVO X, it doesnt seem like they went as far bring the EVO X above the 9.

It still looks to be a draw overall.

lol covering my eyes * I know i will spark another heated debate lol

The X is miles ahead of the current evo in terms of chassis stiffness, refinement and technology.

yeah it may weigh a little more but just look at it, it is one sexy car and worth the little bit more it weighs. The awd system/traction control along with the MR transmission is just simply amazing compared to the previous evo.

with all do respect, specs are not worth the paper they are printed on. And this is to defend the EVO bloodline view, it has to be tried tested and true.

and time will dictate that.

But i think it should perform well enough

The X has been tested already, pick up the recent Road and Track. It's slower in a straight line than the 9 but it's faster around a track because of its superior handling.

There's a few possible issues here, first of all being heat. How hot was it when you were driving? You possibly were just pulling in really hot air, and considering you went the SRI root, the air won't be as cool. Secondly is altitude, this can play a big part in power loss due to A/F ratios. Your ecu learns and you have to give it time to adjust the ratios and you should see a difference. Thirdly, and probably the most likely, is a bad tune. Your ecu just isn't adjusting to extra air it is gulping down and is therefore losing power instead of gaining. The easiest way to remedy this is to buy a piggyback to control your A/F ratio. This is by far your best option, as you will never realize the full potential of your cars mods if you don't adjust the A/F ratio, and it can actually become harmful if you mod your intake and exhaust to heavily with out factoring in the added airflow.

On a side note, I'm sure happy I have a gutsy R/A.

honestly... power and handling are easily changed

the lancers BASE is excelent and very much untapped both chassis and driveline wise

compared to the hondas.. which are much higher strung stock, there is room to improve but not nearly as much

this is nothing against hondas I personally don't like them.. but it's from a personal preference stand point then anything.. they make an excelent car personally I just don't like their powerband. I'm from the toyota camp.. I'm used to lower reving torqier engines with LOADS of room for improvement but still decent stock. so the Lancer is a very nice match for me

Uh.... hondas aren't high strung and they can improve just as much as a lancer can (if not more). An obvious example is the new SI, you can easily get those things to over 250 hp NA.
