I'll agree with that...especially the "if not more" part. Traditionally, base Lancers have never responded that well to NA mods and people who tried to keep them NA got disappointed (and poor) really quick. Forced Induction was really the only way to make them come to life. Whereas with Honda's, you could see rather impressive gains with less money and time invested.

Exactly!!! Whatever worked/didn't work on the older Lancer may be different with these. Its a total different platform all together. About the only thing that is the same is the name.

Something to keep in mind, it's still an economy car and it's still a mitsubishi. While I would think that given it's higher starting HP it'll respond better to bolt-ons, that doesn't mean it'll respond well to bolt-ons. I can't think of any memorable NA mitsubishis as opposed to pretty much every honda being NA, it seems that mitsubishi just likes FI.

I do agree, sadly.

Different engine, yes. But it's still a Mitsubishi. Which means the ECU was programmed by the exact same people.

Let's face it, folks. This isn't the 1960's - everything is controlled by the computer. You can't just bolt on parts and expect gains anymore. It's all about the tuning these days.
