Yes, it comes ready to go.

Yes, that's correct. I believe you should be able to read the word "WORKS" when standing on the driver side of the car (it'll make sense when you get under the hood).

Can the K&N recharge kit be used to clean and re-oil the Works filter?

For me the WORKS label is on the other side (underneath)

The other side is blank, where you put the "STOP, this is a re-usable filter" sticker.

krnkimchi702 ...you know what I'm talking about... maybe someone from WORKS can confirm.

i put it on top of the box.. like when you look at it from the top, you can see it.... just put it by the clips that hold the filter.. mine was underneath like you.. but when it comes to my car i want **** to be done right so i had to side it out and put it the right way lol im not saying the way you have your filter isn't right.. i just want it done the way its supposed to...

It should have the larger urethane base on the half of the box that feeds into the throttle body. This is where it creates the seal to ensure that unwanted particles don't make their way into the combustion chamber. It can rotate 180*, so technically it fits two ways

Because I don't know the chemical components of either, I wouldn't recommend it. There's a chance that an unfavorable reaction could occur. I would think the likelihood of damage is pretty low, but still not something I'd gamble on.

How many times can you clean it?

How many times can you clean these? I have one and just finished the last of my cleaning kit, and the filter no longer looks blue, but looks grey. I have a feeling it is finally dead.

Love the filter, so advice would be appreciated... is it time for a new one or do I just need to give it a better clean and order a new cleaning kit?

I thought it was only the oil that gave it the blue colour. I used to get most of the blue colour back after I oiled it, but now it stays very grey. I think that's because the filter itself is very dark grey (perhaps because it is worn out) and the blue no longer shows up. I just wanted to get a confirmation.

2 years. I have cleaned and re-oiled it perhaps 6 times and now the cleaning fluid and oil bottles are empty. I am wondering if the filter is designed to be used for longer than this or not, given the price of it. I have not noticed any power loss, but I need to be assured that it is still cleaning the air effectively.
