This is a copy of the fax that was sent to the Penticton store to tell them the price. Maybe show them it and they can get it cheaper for you.

Surprisingly, they have a keystone book behind the counter and they can get pretty much everything.

Thats not too bad at all. So how is the SRI perfoming so far? Any CEL warnings on your LCD dash? Fuel consumption still the same? Any strange noises etc?

It's awesome. Decided to test it out and took it for a long drive on Sun. Felt the added response and power when passing cars and climbing hills. Has a great roar. Trying to find a vid cam to get a clip of idle and rev for u guys. No CEL and surprisingly I got an extra 50kms out of my tank of gas. I can't believe that, I would have thought it would have gone down slightly. Will see if that keeps up for the next few tanks. No strange noises that I noticed.

Has anyone had any luck taking that fax into Canadian Tire. I called to my nearest Canadian Tire and they quoted 492.00. I am hoping its a mistake, that intake is not worth 492.00, its not even shiny..

i highly doubt the tubing you left behind from the stock intake makes any difference. Path of least resistance: the filter is probably sucking air from around the tubing rather than through it. you're better off removing it and allowing cold air to flow in freely through that space. just my 2cents
otherwise, good choice on the intake! the price did jump up for some weird reason from the time it came out until the day i decided to go in and buy it. wonder why.

I left it on because that's what the K&N instructions said. Don't know if it would work better without it. Probably wouldn't because the guy @ K&N I talked to said they had lots of diff designs and this one yeilded the best performance. They said they made a CAI that looks like the Injen one but it was no where close to the performance of the short ram version. Personally I think it would look better without but they must tell u to put it on for a reason, right?

personally what i would do is remove the piece and also remove the plastic panelling that sits on top of the radiator. that way air that comes in from the front grill can easily find its way through the engine bay. the original design sucks air through those little cut out slots in the plastic panel.... quite restrictive.... but was necessary as a water guard for the stock intake.... now that ur filter is an open element and way back in the engine bay....any open access to fresh air is the best way to go.
