Works Vs. K&N Drop in filter
I don't expect many people to have tried both..but was hopingto see maybe a couple of members who tried one, didn't really like it, switched to the other brand and loved it.

It's probably more because K&N is one of the top names in air filters.
What are you talking about? You can't just say "this filter" and expect us to read your mind. Both companies are established and have sold filters for many years, yes.

The filter from the previous Lancer/EVO will not fit the '08 models, so there's not much to compare aside from a filter that exists and one that doesn't
Based upon the previous versions the WORKS filter has a greater surface area, lighter weight, outflows all others tested (OEM, foam-based and others reusable elements) and captures particles that are measured in microns.
One of the key differences is the fact that WORKS uses cotton fabric with even sized openings. This allows for proper filtration while in use. Others typically use foam and/or a cotton gauze--both of which have uneven openings and have the potential for letting larger particles sneak past the filter element.

i have the green filter on my lancer and i noticed a lot more pickup at higher speed with this filter compared to the stock one
my SRI had a better pickup from a dead stop but after 20 kmh it is even. + were getting colt air from the stock set up

or was it out all along?
yes i kno both companies have been established for many years.
there is an increase in hp for sure....prob not as much as the intakes and also its not as LOUD as the intakes are...most of the time i believe people would choose this over getting an SRI or CAI is because 1. they dont want to mess with the warrenty. 2. because its more descrete. (if they want a sleeper) 3. its cheaperr....
4. it also filters cleaner than intakes normally do.
personally, i'm putting the K&N filter in my lancer.
trusted and LONG established brandd
no disrespect to WORKS though*

I switched to the Works drop-in from a K&N... The oil from the K&N can jack up your MAF sensor... there are a lot of old threads on this... plus the Works filter has more of a surface area, like 20% or so more than the K&N
