2009 GTS Intake

Where can I get the Injen Intake with the filter for water, etc for my 09 GTS? I just purchased my car and am interested in one of these. I looked at the Injen site but can't find it for the 09.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Nathan

no... the '09 GTS is a 2.4L... a 2.4L engine is capable of inhaling and exhaling much more air than the 2.0L engines. If you put an intake designed for the 2.0L onto the 2.4L, you will not gain as much (% wise), if anything, as the 2.0L. That is especially when you're putting on an intake with as much piping as the Injen uses.

But isn't the engine bay the same? I don't see why the 08's will not fit the 09's if it falls in the same place.

The engine bay may very well be the same, but the engine requirements are different. So, even if the '08 intake fits the '09 GTS, you will not reap the same benefits as any of the 2.0L Lancers...

I understand what you're saying, but all the intakes do is hold the MAF sensor. I don't think they would need to redesign a new one just for the 2.4L's.

TBH, I probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Kind of just winging it to everyone of your posts.

well basically ur engine is slightly bigger and they MIGHT redesign a new one with bigger tubing since it can take more air in or smething but prolly not

sgand - we don't really know what changed. Could be nothing, could be a tweak that makes the CAI not fit. Nobody knows just yet.

More than likely they will increase the pipe size. By putting on an intake designed for a 2.0l engine, you could actually harm performance by restricting air flow more than it needs to be.

i think it should be the same. the block dimensions between the 4B11 and 4B12 are the same. it's just what's inside that's different. you guys are pretending that the current SRI's are more than just a MAF adapter pipe with cone filter. like it was designed by a team of intake specialists... heck most of the intakes don't even go back enough to bolt onto the TB. how much redesigning would you need to do if you're basically using stock piping???

with an increase in displacement, additional flow would be warranted. For a SRI not so much, but INJEN is going to have to release a second CAI if they are serious about having the top performing CAI.
Sigh this was the problem I mentioned before about if Mitsubishi was stupid enough to release a 2.4L engine. this will drive up prices vs. sending them lower. Sigh, well as soon as I get my car back from the bodyshop, I will be starting my evaluation of the INJEN intake and RRM header, as the pulstar test comes to a close
