That's a lot of power, especially for a FWD with no traction control, no LSD and no ECU-derived torque control.

so technically speaking aside all the technical stuff...

what interal upgrade is going to give us the best performance gain without going turbo.

Honestly, these engines will never put out as much power without going turbo, they LOVE forced induction. We can see that from Xtremeboost's turbo thread, running only 3-4 psi in one of their first test runs, and the car was already running 15's on stock internals. I really don't know how much the Lancer and Evo engines differ, but I'm willing to bet if the parts that Drifting Away wants fit in the the 4B11, then we'd see similar dyno results to that of an evo.

I'm not saying an N/A build wont produce results, N/A cars are still great, but on this car, it probably isn't the way to go. At least until there is a serious selection of parts to choose from.

If you're dead set on staying N/A then you're going to have to wait a while. There's not much for you right now. All of the internal parts available are for Evo X's(pistons, rods, all that crap). AFAIK all that's available now for a lancer - Intake, exhaust, cam pulley, ECU reflash(or a piggy), header, and maybe some spark plugs. For the manual guys - a clutch and flywheel upgrade, maybe a short throw kit.

Getting back on topic, I'm guessing you're just going to have to bite the bullet and buy the pistons to see if they fit, if they don't, I'm sure they'd let you send them back.

And BTW, people like Drifting Away are exactly what this community needs, people that are willing to give it a try and see what happens for the sake of the people just wondering how it will turn out. Good luck with your lancer man

You'd want to use high compression pistons at the very least and you could potentially change the crank and the rods to change the displacement.

Which hopefully some company fixes for us via LSD but we can only hope...

Even with an LSD that's a lot of power, to put that into perspective, a 350 hp STI or Evo is a handful and frankly scares the crap out of me.

yeah im going turbo eventually im just not trying to jump into a turbo and regret it after another kit comes out..at the time. money isnt an issue which is why i dont mind replacing internals.. some ppl say just get an evo but my parents being old fashion as they are cant comprehend spending 35k on a lancer on steroids.. so they pretty much said take this gts and do what you want..so right now im probaly going to go with whats avalible

Luda;
Sounds to me like you got realistic parents! Being a parent myself, I can understand where they are coming from about getting the GTS rather then the EVO. Back when I was young, dumb, and full of C$M.......I would have pushed the limits if I had a EVO. Lots of speed, with no fear equals catastrophy! Enjoy what you got, and make the best out of it! In the long run, you will appreciate building it up on your own, and having others admire your work as well!
