Weight: 3900
2002 US Lancer (4DR Sedan):
Manual
HP: 120 @ 6000
Torque: 130 @ 4250
Redline: 6000

I don't mean to be a mag racer. Clutch meets are everything in this race...I know that. But what do you say?

Lancer should. Powerband is similar to a certain extent. Manual has the advantage over GM auto tranny (tends to be linear in the powerband). Weight is in your favor, unless GM designed some surprises in the car that I don't know of. Of course, it's still up to the driver's skill.
Otherwise, stay away from the Z24 w/ a Quad 4 motor, even w/ auto tranny.

Base model Lancer should win but higher end Cav will kick your ***. Learn the model names of other cars because the Lancer ES/LS/OZ/whateverthehell is a ***** car that needs to be babied in all but the perfect conditions.
I think he made it clear with the engine specs he posted that he wasn't making mention to the Z24 Cavalier....although its not all that great a car and I hardly think it would outright eat an even stock Lancer although it might win.

Torque: 130/155

As even a race as I've ever seen it spec-wise. I'd say it would boil down to modifications and driver skill in a race between the 2 cars.

The Lancer would win it would be close, but since the cavilier has a Auto Tranny and the Lancer has a manual then the lancer would win, MT has the advantage unless the cavlier is packin liek 200 under the hood which is not. ^ ^

Those Quad 4's are pretty damn nasty, believe it or not. My old Grand Am had (has) a 2.3l Quad 4 and it was quick as a lubed turd.
Suprisingly quick for what it was/is. The car would spin (close to new) tires if you cut the wheel a bit and gave it a little extra gas from a stop. Anywho...Know thine enemy. Always know what you're up against. There's nothing worse than being stomped because you underestimated.
