depending on tuning and boost pressure... anywhere from 50-70.

just a guess really.

Actually, about the exhaust piping...2.5 is perfect, even with a turbo...some people even keep it at 2.25. If you get as big as 3 inches, you'll lose a lot of low end torque which is a big advantage our lancers have...stay 2.5 or less...thats the optimum size for our 4 banger

your low end will be created by the back pressure from the turbo, so do what you want with your exhaust.

With all your mods and boosting at 8 or 9 PSI you should have about 200 at the wheels.

Just Swap in the 6a12 2.4 V6 DOHC 24V MIVEC engine from the FTO....it's rated at 190kw or 250hp....and it's cheaper than all those mods you listed AND it has already been done a plethora of times in australia....aside from that the engine is fairly cheap and the swap time is minimal. Dave from RPW quoted me $3500 for parts and labour for the Mivec.

Look at all the advantages:

.4L bigger, DOHC instead of SOHC, V6 instead of i-4, 24v instead of 16v? and Mivec instead of non-mivec.......

Why don't you swap the engine and then turbo it?

When you do engine swaps.. dont you have to put in your stock engine everytime you have to get your car smogged? i mean that's once every two years... but damn still a lot of hassle isnt it? But i dont know anything about engine swaps.. so would you really have to swap the stock one in everytime you get your car smogged?

Because the 6A12 is much to large inside a Lancer bay to attach very convoluted manifold piping to feed even the smallest turbo, let alont two if you run 1 off of each cylinder bank, that and the monetary issue is pretty prelevant. Plus the MIVEC engines are running a pretty high compression to begin with which isn't beneficial for turbocharging unless you run a low boost setup. Plus the high spec 6A12 isn't rated rated at 190kw, it's rated at 150, which is rougly 200 HP. It is a great basis for a pretty torquey NA setup though.

Pjal84....Dave@RPW expressed to me in an email that with the Haltech ECU, there header and downpipe along with an exhaust would easily boost the rating to 190kw......when I talk about engine swaps I usually refer to slightly modded engine swaps rather than stock engine swaps.....in otherwords: I made a mistake and assumed that if you were to swap the engine you'd add the basic bolt ons rather than wait.
