sorry there are about 3 threads here on evolutionm.net i started my mistake that i didnt get to this one...
The results were compromised with an issue having to do with our Canadian ECU. The bad news there were no real reliable results yielded from the Canadian Lancer we used. So there is an effort to have the lancers re dyno'd just consulting with some vendors to how best deal with the issue, but we may just get a USA lancer driven up from the USA and do it again.
we figured out the problem, actually a vendor here was able to give us some good solid assistance for dealing with this issue, we took measures to midigate that problem, but the cold weather ended up not help.
The good news is we were able to get some solid numbers from out EVO X testing, which featured a mystery intake and an AEM INTAKE. results will be posted shortly, sorry once again. Saturday was bone chillingly cold, what make is even funnier, the next day it was unusually warm. lol I will just never trust mother nature

no they didnt lose power hahha lol
It was the car not running right is what messed things up. I promise to have something up by this weekend guys, forgive me, about 6 huge things dropped on my lap having to do with Vendors here and abroad. Its big, at least for the local car club here. Idealy I if the dyno day went as planned I would be able to unveil a few new surprises for the next round of benchmarking and tests. sigh... nothing ever goes accord to plan. Murphy's law right?
keep you posted:
EDIT:
Since I am making a few official publications, i just need to get confirmation from sponsors and vendors.
when i get confirmation then i can start the first of many small articles, cheers

from seeing them both mounted up, can you confirm which sits lower and hence probably more in the way of moisture either from the wheel well splash guard or the front bumper? thats more of a consideration for me cause we get heavy thunderstorms and downpours here.
i think the aem sits lower when i campare it to the pics of how the injen sits

man i was really looking forward to this.
im not so sure. the pics i been looking at shows the injen bolted up almost under the headlight behind the bumper. whereas you can get to the Aem just through the wheel well. anyone looked at both mounted up?

Final update: After sitting there running the dyno , over and over and over again, I finally got a semi admission from Mitsubishi, and one that could at least in my eyes get them in trouble.
They have admitted that the Canadian version of the FED spec has been possibly modified to comply with environmental standards.
I ask myself WTF does that mean? asking around with a few tuning pros who work in the industry and dabble in OEM projects.
1) They are just complying with government emission rules
2) they are interested in keeping the car within safe operating zones of performance due to harsh environmental conditions, for example Extreme cold here in Canada.
3) Or the same as above but really to ensure lower failure rates, and warranty claims.
That said, it has somewhat tainted Dyno Benchmarking for the Lancer. Its behaviour is unusual even by the tuning pros. I will be starting a new thru of my preliminary findings as well well as commentary of both AEM and INJEN intakes.
No one is more disapointed by this then me, and this leads me to ask more questions of Mitsubishi, for example, are we really getting 152HP at the crank, some pros say that its entirely possible, that it may be Detuned slightly. An american car is being sought by Mitsubishi USA, as well as a ECU back to back Test of a USA spec ECU and a Canadian Spec ECU.
Either way, this has me saying
WTF were they thinking.
