4G93 were the 1.8L engines that are being referenced in this thread. You are talking about 4G63 which is another ballgame altogether. They were never 1.8L stock at all.

If you mistakenly wrote 63 and meant 93, then I dont know what the PR guys are doing, since the 4G93 pistons are 0.5 mm smaller than the Lancer block. We explored possibilities of hybridizing when I was still 4G93 but it wasn't as easy as it seemed so I abandoned it quickly and just went with forged Lancer pistons in the Mirage block (upped my displacement to about 1.9L).
Yea i did hit the 63 instend of 93, but you understood what i was talking about.... They must of sleeved it or something. I cant think of no other way to shove 1.8 pistons in a 2.0 block.

ok, so i have a question. I jsut got a 4g93 cylinder head from a used parts place, and they swear it will bolt up fine on the 4g94, or I can return it. Now, that engine was somewhere around 1800cc and the 4g94 in the '03 is 1999/2000cc. so that being said, is this head going to improve my low end and kill some of my barely existing top end? I haven't pulled the 4g94 head off yet to compare, but I'm assuming that i should port this 4g93 head....or does that even matter significantly since the heads are pretty much the same? Any ideas if I'll run into issues with the intake manifold?

Basically, anyone try this before? Anyone know of any threads I can check out? I've been searching for 4g93, only found 4 or 5 threads so far most of them dealing with the intake manifold...this is the most involved one that stays on topic.

If everything works for a short-term fix, I'll just keep the 4g94 head and get that ported and polished and built up for later
