Evo Swap ?

I was wondering i am new to lancers. But i know there would be some heavy modding to this but why not a evo engine in a lancer ? would it be possible even with modding or just no room for it at all ? i have a lancer es 2002 auto but im thinking what i can do with it as far as engine swap what is possible ?

It has been done, just not for cheap. The 4g64 swap has also been done and has a thread stickied on this site.

its been done.. your looking at 5-10 grand or more depending if you do the labor yourself.

It would be much easier to swap in a 4g63 from a 1st or 2nd gen talon or eclipse.

The axles will still work with your existing lancer hubs/spindles all you'd need to do is wiring and reverse the engine and tranny mounts.

at the end of the day, our cars are not hondas... you have a lot of learning to do. Most of the time with these crazy swaps, if you had to ask US, dont even start it. Do some searching on the board, this swap among others has been covered many times.

No, the 1st and 2nd gen eclipse motor is backwards. Just get an evo motor and all accessories and a 3g eclipse transmission thats fwd.

I'm responding to your quote very late, but allow me to respond with a swift NO. That is not as easy as it sounds, and making the entire engine reveresed to what it's made for is going to cost a lot, you're going to have to do a lot of research. I agree with Juan with getting the evo motor and getting an eclipe FWD tranny.

Yes, all evos are AWD. Swapping an evo engine into a base lancer is possible but takes lots of money, time and effort.
