Header Heat Shield..

is removing the heat shield off the header bad? cause if i buy a nice polished header i want to see it but i dont want to F up anything by trying to have my engine look pretty

the heat from the header "might" cause the paint on the hood to warp....and it being a lancer....the paint sux....keep that in mind

i have my header for a year and my turbo for 6months i have no issues with the extra heat.

by the way i now have had a hood vent but only had it for a month or so.

take it off and wrap it, it'll atleast look like u have headers and plus wraps work better

how hard is it to wrap the header?? do i have to take off the header or can i do it leaving it on?

You really don't want to try and put header tape on if the manifold is still in the car. You need to make sure you wrap that stuff uber tight to avoid letting moisture develop between it and the manifold when the car cools after driving, so you don't start developing cracks at important places like flanges. A friend's Jackson Racing blown Miata did it wrong and voila, a few months later he developed a flange crack.

i had my heat sheild over my header for ever then one day i took it off i have noticed no diffrence with anything i think i was one of the only people with the rrm header and the heat sheild and i felt lonely now its in my trunk
