I hate you all. Lol jk. Ya I had like 65k on it when I bought mine. I coulda gotten the ralliart for like 3-4k more but I just cant get over how much those front ends remind me of a ford focus. Ugh. But to each his own. Even a ford focus could smoke my car. My car runs like a champ though and I actually have more money into it right now than I paid for it and I havent even finished paying it off yet. Too bad they werent more mod friendly. I actually coulda picked up an ES for like 4k but I thought the OZ rally edition had more to offer than it actually does.

I bought mine last year with 80k for $5000 cash and now has 95k.
Obviously it's paid off and all my money goes to bills, gf, and mods.

Your friend is probably confusing the 4gXX engines with the newer GEMA engines, which are a joint venture between Mitsu, Chrysler, and Hyundai (Kia.)

Ah that makes sense. But I thought the Mitsubishi investment parent company owned all those anyways? Maybe not? I knew mitsu and chrysler work hand in hand with each other alot and I was told mitsu owns chrysler.

The way you see my car now I have $4000 total including price of car(not counting turbo parts I am collecting) that includes a tranny that did have only 5k miles on it, brand new paint job, body work, spoiler, (you ever seen our cars without a spoiler UGLYYYYY) tail lights, wheel bearings, believe it or not it even came with 18" wheels but were nasty chrome, not a good look on my car per se, traded those for the 17 motegi there now, HID with ballasts, python alarm, both drive shafts ( I could not find one of them ANYWHERE at first and mine were gone who knows where and mitsu wanted $800 for one!!! finally found the one I needed for $225 much better) fluids, belts still need to change timing belt will do that when turbo goes on. Its ridiculous the money you can save if you know how to work on your own S*** and have the patience to wait for the right deal

Money into my stereo-Um well over a 1000 in past subs and amps I had and other random stuff.

So as you can see, alot of random and useless money went into this car. Ive stopped buying stupid parts that dont get me anywhere and learned from my mistakes that I need to buy quality and not cheap out on a lot of stuff. All in all, this adds up to $9875 which is $375 more than I paid for my car. and I still owe just over or just under 5k on my car, dont remember which. Is that sad or what? There is a ton more that I didnt list here either cause it was too minimal to really care or I forgot but Im pretty sure the real number is actually probably a little over 10k. Ive had my car for two years. Ill post some pics next week if you guys want them. I dont think anyone here has seen my car yet. I try to keep it as clean as I can. There are more mods than this but I didnt list them cause I didnt pay for them. Like my sparco seat and harness

This is good to know I will let him know that!!

And IMA... GOOD LORD MAN!!! My car is completely stock in terms of engine, drivetrain and suspension but I will bet your car handles mint!!! I think my shocks are shot, and I think my flywheel is messed up too I can hear a buzzing? sound right before my clutch engages sometimes like my flywheel is a little warped and my clutch disk is kinda flapping around right as the pressure plate grabs it. That was another thing I had to buy was clutch PP and throwout bearing but didnt pay much attention to my flywheel at the time, also I can hear something towards that area starting at about 5k rpms and gets louder the closer to redline I go and it kinda scares me when I was doing my 3rd gear pulls for logging so I prolly getting a new flywheel too. Whoever had my car before me did not care about it at all I mean there was 2" thick completely covering the floor and trunk with just garbage I took my big shop vac and sucked up anything smaller than a baseball lol.

Ive got an extra set of shocks and a couple of other parts I didnt use like brand new lowering springs and such that are brand new. I have every stock part that Ive replaced on my car and then some. My GPs are pissed that I keep all my crap in the garage. Thats disgusting about your car. Who doesnt take care of their cars? It makes me sick cause Im a neat freak. I just am a compulsive spender. I have extra money and I feel like I have to spend it on my car. I have a bike and I want to sell it to get money to mod my car. Its a sick addiction. But hey, I could be doing drugs and Im not. All my money goes to my car which I feel is a somewhat healthy addiction. Heres the sad news. Oregon is trying to pass a law to ban any part which enhances the performance of your vehicle. Including performance tires. Im not even joking. This crap is serious and I wrote all of our state legislature and all they fed me back was some bull about how we need to do our part to prevent global warming. You laugh at us now, wait till they start pulling this crap in your states. Watch out! I would have to revert my car back to completely stock. No performance part whatsoever. Could you imagine a world like that?

Edit: I just now noticed that you live in washington. Like the state washington right? Not D.C. cause I know alot of people say washington for that. Im about in the very middle of Oregon and Im desperate to find some fellow lancer enthusiasts. If you've got Myspace, PM me and Ill find you. Maybe we can work out some wheelin and dealin when I get my car going. Id be more than happy to help you out working on your car too if you dont live too far off. I can do just about anything with these cars now. Ive learned so much going through this rebuild. I really think I hydrolocked my motor for a reason. BTW, have you changed your tranny fluid yet? Thats something alot of people neglect and you should look to that before going as far as the flywheel just yet although you should have it resurfaced when you can.

It is my understanding that our engines are made by MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) which casts a variety of blocks for not only Mitsubishi, but for other companies as well. They have a foundry here in the states that makes gas engines.

Ya I had to buy a tranny when I got my car as it was gone as in a big hole where the tranny should have been lol. I changed out the fluid before I drove it for the first time. I think the only fluid I haven flushed is the coolant and power steering. all others have been changed and flushed through Just ordered my mani for my turbo build woohoo!!!

All Japanese cars are "made" in the same factory.... I think Nissan is partnered up with another car company not sure, and Honda have there own factory... So yes Kia, Hyundai, Chrysler, Mitsu are all made by the same people... just with different specs according to Manufacturer. Some Kia(Hyundai) and even Chryslers motors can be tossed in our cars...... And if you guys want to know this for yourself... just go to the dealer and ask... they will tell you.
