It only notifies you when the ambient temp hits 37 degrees. so you probably were driving in an area that was hovering around that........like me this weekend. When i drove in my hometown it was 39, when i started going up the hills to get to huntington it was 36 and it notified me, then when i was in huntington it was back to 38.

I got the message when I was in the middle of the snowstorm this weekend up in harriman, ironically it was in the middle of braking into a corner abs pulsing away like crazy on 5 inches of fresh snow. I turned to my girlfriend and was like o rly...

If outside temperature were below 37 degrees when you get into the car then the car will notify you about the "Possible Icey Roads" right after you start-up the car.

lol I know, it's just funny when it tells you well after you've been driving for a while. I swear there's been times where it was parked outside already easily below 37 and it still doesn't tell me for a while. I'm also getting the low tire pressure along with it now too... yay for 26 degrees.

i bought some used 16" rims from an old ralliart, and put winter tires on, cost me 250$ less then just getting tires for my 18's. now the gts is sweet in the winter

Any stock tires on the Lancer make it horrible in snow or ice conditions; especially with a 5 speed. Though the car lacks power, there is just enough to make you spin from a stop or shifting from first to second gear. Not a great car for winter conditions. Then again, who bought it for that reason?!

Haha I get the possible ice message mid drive all the time. Always makes me lol, especially since I live in Vegas where we don't even get any ice/snow. (Yes I understand it just has to be 37 degrees).
