2002 Lancer OZ with an 03 Evo Engine...
If this is a 4G94, you won't gain 15-30 HP with an intake and header, turboed and higher displacement motors don't see those kinds of gains. You'll be lucky to gain 3 HP with those mods.
well it is not something listed on ebay. It is stated on the companies website that the header produces 8-12 extra hp on the lancer 2.0 engine. And the cold air intake claims +5 hp in their tests. So im hoping for the max...
I wish I could put the Evo engine into the car since I can get the Complete engine turbo and all for $1200 used...that would be nice...but too much mods, and I'm no good at the mods and I don't got no money tree out back LOL....

First off, you cannot simply add the numbers together, different parts produce their maximum gains at different parts of the powerband. Secondly, read the FAQ in my sig. I had intake, throttle body, intake manifold, header, fuel rail, exhaust and higher compression pistons and I gained 5 HP. All the parts were from a reputable manufacturer that made claims about a single part gaining double that alone.

I have to agree. Even if Mitsubishi just made a new one for you (Im assuming 02-03 lancer), That motor does not respond to bolt-ons as well as manufacturers say they do. It's the base of base cars. Yes, You can make it faster but with money worth more than the car is worth today, or equal (car retails used for $4900-$7200 and that's assuming it the OZ rally and not the other models).
You would have to make your own 4G94 to fit if you want those kinds of gains and if you had that kind of knowledge/money you would be working for Mit. I was just at pick and pull today staring at other motors that would possibly fit and well my searches yeilded me not to far considering its a small yard for imports.
Im not hating, I love my lancer, but there is only so much Im ready and willing to do to it to make it "Faster". Turbo/pistons/rods/exhaust/sri/coilovers is all im going to do. If I wanted faster I woulda gotten a ralliart (which is now discontinued
Bottom line. Dont reach to high because you will be disappointed in the time and money you saved/spent. Saw my gf do it to her neon. She put all this cash into it turboed and all and I spanked her with my dads 99 galant. Reach high but not out of reach. Small steps lead the way.
ok...
I been reading the post about doing the 4G64 swap...Is this a very difficult undertaking? I know the tranny part sounds very daunting, but I want more power in the lancer. The car is worth the work...it still has a very valuable interior and body...

). Get a better car with either RWD or AWD. Just bought my 03 lancer last year turboing this year and buying an 09 ralliart next year and turboing the following year.

It will take time and patience. Finding the engine isnt tooo hard. Going to junkyards may help. I found one at my local pick and pull Sunday. I didnt get it because it only had the engine. Everything else was M.I.A. If you know very little about transmissions then you should not attempt to do it unless you have a few back up trannys. 6/10 for experienced ppl. Id assume.
Um here is your after product in case you havent already seen

Well I got some time so I don't mind messing around with the transmission...It is a 2002 Lancer OZ Rally not an 06. How many people have successfully completed this swap that you know of? And what kind of little problems might I encounter? Anything that might not line up?? I know about the Custom motor mount...That is no biggie...How about the shift linkage? Accelerator linkage? I want to do this but I don't want to bury my money in the lancer...I have found the engine in many places here in Houston and some for a real affordable price...found one for $400...
ok...I just got done reading DarkMitu's post about his engine swap. If I can find the transmission for this I am doing it. He has documented it so well and I definitely feel like I can handle following his directions! I'm so excited about doing this, and it is a good time to do it too since my current engine has died due to detonation.
YES!! I found the Tranny for $550!!! And the engine for $400!! I am going to do this!! I am getting the tranny this weekend
I will Keep you guys posted and I'm going to try and follow DarkMitsu's instructions as close as possible!!

nice finds. Dont forget to make that engine mount. If you turbo let me know how that sits in there. Since the the engine is bigger I would assume it would not work without some modification to the safety bar.
