even though the 4B11T is only semi-closed aluminum, it can still handle 500+ whp. the biggest problems I face when I ask if i want to swap for a 4B11T is:

will all the accessories (PS, AC, alternator, etc.) bolt right up in the same location on the stock block, and,
will a lancer head fit the T block?

if the head doesnt fit, thats another 2k for a full head, maybe more.

sleeving my block would cost about $1200 and I wouldnt have to worry about those problems^^

If the EVO was to expensive at the time, then your next best option would have been the Lancer Ralliart Edition which also carries the 4B11T.

Did some research on the head and the only difference i can see is that the camshafts and fuel injectors. Maybe little things here and there but yours should bolt up.

No gain, just will allow you to run higher boost.

Sleeved block is a block that has a layer of steel (stronger than aluminum which the rest of the block is composed of) to better handle high amounts of boost in the block.

Google is your friend!!

Get a Ralliart, base dyno numbers are really not far off the evo. Get a custom tune and some small mods and your there. I drove an evo x before I bought my ralliart, evos are badass, but not so much a daily driver. The suspension is super stiff and it just seemed more practical to get a RA. Good luck
