Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, it's not an engine mod, per se so I didn't wanna clutter up that forum.


I got a free bottle of this Pennzoil Gumout Fuel Injector/Carburetor Cleaner stuff and I'm wondering if it's a good idea to use it. The oil change guy said to use it once every thousand miles, but I wanted to be sure first.

funny you bring that up, in my old old car 88' volvo i dumped 2 bottles of this in my tank... wow.......... lemme tell you.. my car never worked after that stuff. Car just started sputterin all over i would floor it and it felt like my cat was clogged..id try to stay away from that stuff.

 

then the day after i parked my car in a dip between 2 hills and it rained so hard when i walked out to my car the water was past my knees... cya car

 

I wonder if 2 bottles might have been a bit much. I'm not sure how big your gas tank was, etc. but I'd say it's not healthy to have too much non-gas in the engine. I put in the Outlaw FI cleaner and oil cleaner every oil change and my car runs just fine.
