Smile engines

so i picked up my 02 lancer and i never realize how slow the damn thing is but im planning to change that but i have afew questions, first, would the 2.0 eclipse turbo manifold fit on my 2.0 and i already seen the 2.4 sticky swap but would the 3.0 work? labor isnt a problem since it would be done by me and afew friends plus afew cases of beer right now my car is bone stock, will be doing a custom exhaust sometime this week, cant wait

Sway bar question, would the evo ones work? i seen the kit on ebay 25mm in the front 22mm in the back i hate body lean i plan on lowering it after i get some 17s on it, if i cant sell my rims then im gonna do a 4 to 5 lug and put my rims on. i hate how its so light and i spin out like crazy but im hoping bigger rims will stop that

I think the eclipse 2.0 engines are different than the 4G94, I think the eclipses have a 4G64 motor in them so if they do the turbo manifold will not work. the chassis of the lancer and evo are pretty much the same so you shouldn't have any issues with the sway bar.

If your looking for a manifold you can always buy them from speed corps for $300.00 its pretty much a custom manifold to fit our cars

the eclipse is a 4g63 where our engines are a 4g94. cant swap parts from a 6x series to a 9x series engine. better off going with a the 3g eclipse engine then doing all that work or turboing the 94 engine if you want power.

like i mentioned before is that this car doesnt respond like most cars do for bolt on performance without going turbo.

as for the sway bar im not sure.

and are you talking about the rims from yur subie? those are a 5x100 correct? most of the lancer guys just grab the parts off of a ralliart lancer which tho i think has a 5x114 bolt like the evos do. if you had rims from a newer sti or something then they would for sure work.

the 4g63 engines can be found in the 1st and 2nd gen eclipses, talons, and lasers and now the evo 8 and 9 with the intake mani and head going the opposite way. the 4g64 (popular swap among our lancers here) comes out of a 3rd gen eclipse. yes the 3rd gen eclipse has both a v6 and a i4 engine. the i4 is the 4g64 and i cant remember the engine code for the v6. i doubt that the v6 3rd gen would fit but idk for sure and i havent found anything on a swap.

your lancer you just picked up has a 4g94 engine code. base of all base i feel. can be modded yes but will cost you.

unfortunately i doubt that any of the 4 to 5 lug conversions are a 5x100 bolt pattern for our cars. senate6268 here on the forums would know more about it than i would. he is the one that has a thread on here on how to convert to a 5 lug but thats using all the parts from a lancer ralliart with a 5x114 if im not mistaken.

hope that helps.

To the best of my knowledge, nobody has swapped a 6G7x motor into a Mirage/Lancer. The 6A1x JDM engines DO fit, however. labor isnt a problem since it would be done by me and afew friends plus afew cases of beer right now my car is bone stock, will be doing a custom exhaust sometime this week, cant wait

Sway bar question, would the evo ones work? Evo sway bars will not work. Your best bet is to perform the 4G64 swap and begin from there. Keep in mind that this motor is not the fastest engine either, but it provides a stronger, more responsive platform to begin modding.

Unless you swap on the 4g63 evo head onto the 4g64 engine ... 2.4 evo engine

I doubt many parts from the scooby will fit the lancer , the evo swaybar WILL NOT fit the lancer , the control arms are longer on the evo different mounting points, the rear has a different subframe so it will not fit either, you need the sway bar from an 02-03 oz rally lancer ,

the 4g64 requires a custom passenger side mount and some parts from the lancer trans swapped into the 4g64 trans so you can use the 4g94 axles, you will also need the maf sensor, injectors, transmission and computer

You're swapping the differential from the Lancer into the Eclipse trans. Computer is not recommended as you will run into the immobilizer. To avoid this you can simply flash the 4G64 values into the Lancer ROM using EcuFlash and you're good to go.

there is also this option...using a 4g93e head...you keep your 4g94 block and its a direct swap...minus a few things that have to be reaplced...98 sonata coil pack/lead...rodeo idler pulley and a timing belt for a supra...i would PM LLT...his name is luie he'll point you out in the right direction...theres like 5 other guys doing this DOHC conversion...just another route to go
