My .02; I installed the K&N Typhoon intake, and it instructs to use the stock air dam that routes to air to the intake. I, being the idiot that I am, thought naaah, don't need it, the intake will suck the air it needs. Well, my dum-dum *** kicked a CEL. I reset the ecu, installed the air dam, and the car runs like a champ!

i'm with ssabII. i to a looking for a SRI, which product is better? i heard rrm doesn;t come with piping or whatever, or do they send you EVERYTHING thats need to hook it up. Cause if i get it in the mail i want to quickly take it to a shop and have it installed without any problems. Or anyone saying i don't have the nessasery part to install it and make it run well without any problems or risks.

half way down is my post on what i think about intakes.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...n&pagenumber=5

but to answer the question, they'll all more than likely work the same. EXCEPT for the rmr. i vote rmr since i've had both the rmr and a short ram setup. the rmr uses the stock air dam to bring in cold air. if you broke it, you can prob get a new one for under $50. that's kind of a lot but oh well. also the heat shield blocks a lot of engine heat. it also doesn't soak up a lot of engine heat because of the insulation used on the heat shield. this short ram setup probably is the only one that sucks up cool air throughout its use.

everyone said RMR's is the best, and its hella loud and uses the stock snorkel for extra cold air, and if u want im sure u can run some clothes dryer/washer ducting from behind ur grill to the stock intake, i think urbanknight did this and he has a pic of it in his profile, i think it was him anyways. he's my hero cuz he auto-x's etc lol

I'm happy with my RMR one, but the RRM one is designed very well, too. And it comes with everything you need. The stock air dam can be used with some manipulation, but many people are replacing it with larger ducting coming from the side grill(s) instead.

quick update. i'll try and keep this short, seeing as how MANY people have written reviews on the rmr intake. installed it last night and was VERY impressed. install: quick and easy, everything fit perfect, heat sheild is pure quality, filter is huge, VERY nice kit overall..... test drive: car definately feels more aggressive, gives the engine a mean @ss sound. overall everything turned out perfect, i'm very happy with my purchase.
