Towards the very end he started to inch on me... literally poke the nose out. But he didn't blow me out of the water. Doing the math, (using the weight of both cars' and the FR-S' whp from a Mustang Dyno/crank hp) I figure I'm in the neighborhood of 141 whp/ 180 crank.

Only thing was my RPMs never went higher than 6500 RPMs. Unless I rebuild my tranny like Demon_ni2 or do a manual conversion, I'm at a loss. =P
Street racing is retarded.

Trying to figure out your dyno numbers from a street race is even more retarded.

If it was on a used road in the city during business hours, then yeah, definitely retarded. But it was on a highway road with an 85 mph speed limit in the middle of the desert around 11 PM... so it was more like reckless

But there's nothing wrong with ballpark guess-estimating during an open run. In fact, it gave me a better idea of power by being able to factor in aerodynamics, air temperature, and road surface.

Doesn't matter, street racing is street racing.

No it doesn't. All those factors you've listed can completely interfere with the accuracy of your assessment. You're not taking into account factors like weight, gearing, parasitic losses, etc.

You're no fun lol

Exactly, which it's why it was a guesstimate. Unless the laws of physics somehow changed between the road and the dyno, then Power-to-weight ratio isn't going to change drastically. Chillax man, I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm not saying "I know I make this much HP and that's a fact!". All I'm saying is my car performed similarly under the same conditions to another car, so if I crunched the numbers using what I know, then here's where I could be.

Ok so after reading a few of your posts and a few others. And having you recommend doing the 4g93e head swap with the forged bottom. You had also brought up mivec, I was wondering if the mivec head was mainly intended for turbo or if it would be a good head to build a all motor N/A build. for all those who say just turbo it I am well aware of the advantages of going turbo, that's why I have a 97 eclipse gsx, I want sheer power and reliability. I know the 4g6x is a good swap to but I want a 4g9x build something that isn't around here. And being that im in a small town and don't have many places to bring the car I like the fact that there really isn't a lot of custom fab work. Really nice build man looks great and apriciate the fact some one took the time to do it. instead of taking the easy way out and saying no those numbers just wont happen. Thanks for the help and advice already im hoping to do a swap here soon my self. so will deff stay in contact haha. Also must add cant wait to see the dyno and new numbers you will have and maybe a little video of the pulls against other car haha.

141whp is highly unlikely, unless the dyno operator fudges the numbers.

Hey everyone, I've had a lot a fun with my Lancer, but It's time to see if I can find my Lancer a new home. I decided to be an old man and buy and SUV. Between that and my MR-S build, there's no point on letting my Lancer sit in the garage. You can find my sell thread here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...l#post11446857. For everyone who's followed this build over the last few years, thanks for the help and support.
