Injen CAI for Auto Tranny's
Maybe you could bend the piping around the front edge of the engine... over the headers, and just move the filter element... I'm kidding of course. I think that sometimes you gotta stop listening to Tim Allen, cut your losses.
Not trying to be rude... I love GalaxyQuest just as much as the next guy. By Grapthor's hammer, I think that you should just get the short ram. Probably gonna be less costly in the long run.

I doubt those are the same as what you'd get in the box, but most likely similar. Looks like a long ram intake
Not quite a CAI.

People have fit them by scraping/pushing/otherwise mangling their pipes. You should probably just get a short ram.
The similar benefits and cost difference should make you feel like you've gotten your money's worth. That's what I'd do anyway.

Injen CAI
I have an Auto 02 OZrally Lancer, and when I baught the Injen CAI I was not told that it was only for the Manual. But some way or an other I got it on, I had to move a few things and use up most of the day, but hey I'm happy

Exactly just be happy with what you got. I bought the Injen CAI for my auto. Same was told to me, " IT wont FIT" I said **** it, i squeezed that **** there somehow. One problem was,. I had to get rid of my Battery holder. Some plastic tray that was there. I didn't have the tools to actually bend the piping so, it looks sort of funny to people who don't reallly know abou it.
The first Stem from the TB, where it bolts on to the Actual engine is in perfect fit. The problem is the second stem wouldn't fall into place so it's just hangin there, with no problem. The last and final problem is that once you fit the actual thing, i couldn't put back my Lower splash guard that actually covers the filter. My anti-freeze cooler (overflow) bottle wouldn't go back into place due to it being to long so it would hit the piping and not go anywhere.
make your own. that looks just like a 45 degree 2.5" pipe with a k&n stukc on the end. connected to the tb with a rubber connecting pipe from home depot for 10 bucks.if you still want the IAT and AIR to be replaced, connect then to the rubber part. i did this with my camaro for $60, turned out nice
I have come up with a plan... A batterey locator kit and place the battery in the trunk...whamo...drill a hole big enough to fit the pipe through and place the air filter on the other side of the wall where the pipe comes out. It will have to a custom pipe but you can have the bend put on the end and then just have a straight pipe running down to the hole...no more turns should make it better : )
Hey go with the Cold airbox from weapon R. They make custom fits for the AT and the MT. $325.00 Just opt out for the Dragon filter. I hear they fall apart.
