Talking Possible Turbo

Hey guys, Im new to this forum. However, I know how they work. I have a 2006 Mitsu Lancer SE and I am looking to turbo it. Does anyone know what the best kit to buy for this car is? Lets just say I do not want to spend too much, but I know they are expensive lol. Thanks for any help! I am open to suggestions of other things to help increase the horsepower!

I mean if you want cheap you're not going to be buying a turbo kit per say. And I don't really think it's going to be easy as just bolt on. Check my guide out to see how much of a process it is.

let's just say i collected a lot of cheap hand me down parts from 1st and 2nd generation DSM (chrysler/mitsubishi), and i was even able to get some things for free...I also designed, and fabricated my own manifold and charge pipe, i did have a shop fab the exhaust, but i'm pushing $1,500 in parts and material, and i still need tuning...that's with $40 injectors, and a $110 turbo...it adds up quick...

I've got about $2500 into everything I needed to turbo to start and thats from bone stock to using various evo parts and subie parts. Couple of used gauges even a used clutch to start with. That also included the tuning supplies I needed to tune the car myself. I scoured the net for used parts and over half of everything I bought for my car I found the best deal in the FS sections here.

Good guidance. I know you get what ya pay for sco i'm not going too far diwn the price range. I needs something to have fun with and easiest to install due to my sluggish knowledge of the technicality as well as the car shop here where i live.

Been looking up the fs se tion here but my country do not allow importation of 2nd parts (unless hand carry) so if i find ad good price for the whole set, i might flight to us and pick it up myself (fare is roughly 1 grant). Also might consider picking good MT tranny for my car as the current AT is not very fun to drive. A car in vietnam is 3 times that in USA so cost would be in reasonable range.

Bsdies, as 03lancers said, i hope i'd learn a great deal of automotive mechanical by doing this gradually.

Just wanna say that i'm keeping searching and lloking around. Efore i make my trip in summer time. thanks all

i didn't include the clutch in my price...you WILL need a stronger clutch if you drive a manual 5 speed...I paid $150 for my ACT but they actually cost around $400-500 if i remember correctly...

I've done my absolute best, to keep the cost below $1,500, it's actually taking longer to complete the build due to the budget i set...it adds up quick, don't expect to turbo your car for $1000 or less...even an $800 ebay turbo kit will require a clutch, tuning, and some fabricating...and for that price the parts won't be of a good quality, that's for sure...boost ain't cheap!

+1^ That used clutch lasted about a year and a half or so and it was supposed to be an rrm stage 2. My ACT I bought to replace it cost just shy of $400 and that was searching till I found the best deal.
