Question on Emissions

Do you guys see any danger in running the Lancer without the 2nd cat and then putting it in for emissions tests. I want to put in a high flow cat and cat-back. But a friend told me he was running a high flow cat in a supra and it wouldn't pass smog then he put in the original cat and still wouldn't pass. So was that due to the cat exchange or possibly engine trouble. What do you think?

If he put the OEM cat on and still failed then he had other issues going on in the car than just the cat more likely than not.

Thanks for the reply Hobie.
That's what I thought too because the OEM cat would filter any harmful emissions that would cause a smog test failure.

Oh, just because I was there this weekend and the guy told me he had done up a Lancer and that it was a pain cause of all the bends. So are you happy with the gains and sound?
