DIY MIL Eliminator

Hey guys, i just have a quicky question real fast.

I am strapped for cash for the next couple months, but i just got my kamikazi headers installed, and as most of you know, they dont have a o2 sensor, which has come to my attention that makes me run "rich" and thus having ****ty gas mileage, I think i get around 120-140 miles a tank. or a little more. which is just horrible.

SO, what i was wondering is if there is anyone who knows how to make a MIL Eliminator for the car for like under 10$ or something, just something cheap and easy to make that light go away and make the car stop running rich and run normal and how its supposed too, because i dont want anything bad to happen to her

Thanks Guys

man are you sure you are just not always flooring it from place to place... cuz you cut your mpg in half... most ppl when they install their header they only loose 2-3 mpg... you might want to get your car checked out have it tuned up or something...

no i hardly ever floor it, since it being winter out. i dont think i've actually floored since i've taken those numbers.

I think getting the MIL thing would actually help out a lot.

03rally - do u have a test pipe?

because im running the header + DP , test pipe and 2.25" piping... so im not sure all that combinded could cause the problem. But someone gave me a link for a MIL Eliminator you can make yourself since im strapped for cash so im going to try that and hopefully it will work.

All you have to do is figure out what resistance the 02 sensor reads when its in the correct operating range. Should be able to find this onfo in a factory service manual. Then all you have to do is go to Radioshack and spend $.49 on a resistor, plug it into the 02 harness and your good to go.

Worked for me on my WRX.

Im not 100% sure either, but i believe its the light that comes on to say "Check Engine" or "Service Engine Soon" and just the MIL Eliminator just kind of corrects the problem found by the comptuer not reading the air flow correctly.
