4g94 SOHC to DOHC

Hello to all. My 02 lancer ES has the SOHC 4g94. could I switch it to the DOHC 2.0 without having any problems? Im currently deployed to Afghanistan so I have been saving up some $ to work on my car when I get home. Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Are you asking to do a DOHC swap on your existing 4g94 or are you asking about doing a motor swap?

either or. If I had to put another engine Iwould do the 4g64 swap for a DOHC with a 63 head. I didnt know if it could be done with the 4g94 though

Personally i think you're better off doing the 4g64 swap than doing the 4g94 DOHC swap. The 4g64 is a way better platform all around and has way more potential. Plus you would be starting with more HP than the 4g94 and to achieve those numbers with a NA setup, you would be spending a pretty penny to use the 4g94. It really depends on you and what you want to achieve in your build. I boosted my 4g94 and I'm pretty happy with the results, but you're always wanting more. I plan on building this motor and boosting more, and when I'm no longer happy with it, I'll finally do a motor swap. I'm looking to trade in my mustang on a 2014 evo in the next cpl wks, but I'll still keep building my lancer just because it's fun and I like to waste money on my car addiction. haha

Honestly I was really looking into doing the 4g64 swap. If I did do that though I will have to swap tranny's also. Thats the part that still confuses me because of the whole auto to manual swap.
