15% is only like 15whp. I highly doubt you would even get that by tuning it, especially without a decent amount of bolt ons. Turbo would make you really happy. Just take the money you would use to buy crappy mods and keep putting it towards a turbo setup. Just keep piecing it together, it will keep you motivated to keep building the car.

No, but it all depends on how you take care of the car and watch everything and make sure everythings good. turboing a car puts more stress and strain on the engine and what not. As long as you do it right, you should be fine

I doubt you'd blow the motor, but if you do boost it make sure you get it tuned, if not that WILL give you problems. One thing people might not factor in is the amount of miles on the motor, if you have a high mileage motor things aren't going to be as strong as they were internally as the day it left the factory thanks to all the thermal cycles the motor went through (heating up and cooling down), on top of that just normal wear from everyday driving. Take those two and factor in added pressure from boosting it and I think it may put it at higher risk for internal component problems (connecting rods for example). With the motor of my Lancer being at 59k I'd boost it without much hesitation (if I had the large chunk of change needed to do it), but something like 100k+ I'd be more comfortable with overhauling the whole motor first.

What do you mean by overhauling the engine ? My motor is 128,977 miles on it kinda a lot .

A total engine overhaul means pulling the motor, replacing parts like the connecting rods(or bearings), piston rings, crankshaft bearings...basically anything that has moving parts or comes in contact with moving parts. There's actually a guy who did a post on boosting the motor in his Lancer and posted pics of the whole process. He did a dual cam head swap, and did a bottom end rebuild/overhaul (at least the pics looked like it anyway), but if you can dig it up on here it'll give you an idea of the best way to due it to make sure you get all the possible life out of the motor. It was A LOT of work and I know it probably cost him a small fortune, but that's definitely the safest route to go with a high mileage motor. With 129k you could boost it and get it tuned, but it's a gamble, you'd be adding a lot of strain to already somewhat worn parts.

Yeah I understand It puts a lot Of stress on the engine. Is it possible to have someone like examine my engine with out taking it out to see if it's I'm good shape ?

Well you could get a compression test and leak down test done, that would give you a general idea of how healthy the motor is. The down side is you don't know how worn down the other important stuff if, like your crankshaft bearings for example. The last thing you want is to boost it and not long after you spin a bearing or something. I'm not trying to scare you away from doing it, just that there's a chance something may decide to take a dump, and usually it's something that requires the engine to be rebuilt in some form or other. There are a lot of people who boosted high mileage motors and lots of mixed results, just google boosting a high mileage motor and read some of the threads. Many experienced modders and builders recommend having a spare motor on hand for a worst case scenario situation.

Exactly, i wouldnt boost my car unless i had a daily cause you could run into something at the worse timing with boosting your car. Its definitely a challenge, money pit and something to be ready for. Cant expect your car to run perfectly after its turboed and tuned, **** will go. Just the normal maintenance that comes with boosting your car

I love how it looks. And if anyone plans on doing it I reccomend it . Wasn't very hard I went in not knowing anything lol.

Hey man the car looks great I definitely wanna do some of my interior carbon fiber now. Where'd you buy the wrap and how hard was it to use?

The carbon fiber I bought was from amazon , I did my hood before I did this so I had some prior exp. but you should be fine . You need a squige and a heat gun or blow dryer .
