04 es hillclimb car? Help needed

Hey guys,

My brother and I are looking at getting into the hillclimb scene here in Australia and we've been looking around for a project car. Obviously since we're just starting out I don't want to go out and buy an evo or something expensive incase 1-we crash it 2-we get over it.

So my question is would an 04 lancer es be any good for a starter race car??
I understand its not going to move like lightning and we'd more then likely have to mod it a bit but would it be a good starting platform for a family fun race car

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I guess it depends on the "class" you want to be in, if there even are classes for hillclimbs as I know nothing about them.

If you want a Mitsubishi I would look for a Lancer VRX. They are the same as the US Ralliart trim and have the larger 2.4L MIVEC engine plus 4 wheel disc brakes and a stiffer suspension. It would be a great entry level car that would be quite a bit faster than an ES.
