lancer 2011 transmission cooler

I have two lancers 2011 ds and 2013 ralliart! Why the ralliart one brought a transmission cooler close to the transmission and the 2011 didn't bring that? Why? Can u help me to understand that! Thx!!

well depending on what transmission your ES (ds?) lancer has, it may or may not have a tranny cooler.

manual 5 speed lancer will not have a tranny cooler. A CVT lancer should have a cooler but mitsubishi tends to be random when it comes to what model year has them. If you do have a cvt lancer then the cooler would be located far behind the driver side fog light cover in front of the fender splash.

the ralliart has it because it's more performance oriented than the standard lancer which is more of a every day grocery getter. Hell, even the RA can be considered a grocery getter, just quicker.

yeah it's kind of backwards thinking on mitsu's part. My 09 es sport was bought new in florida and didn't have a tranny cooler. I've seen many other low trimmed lancers in my area with the same cooler-less setup. My friend's 08 es that he bought up north did have one. You would think that since FL experiences hotter temps that mitsu would be sure it include cvt coolers in their lancers shipped to FL. But from what I see, its the norther states that get the coolers on most of their non-gts/gt lancers for some reason.

I guess mitsu assumed that cvt lancers would only see light use since FL is the stereotypical retiree state, so they opted to omit cvt coolers on most of their de/es lancers. this is pure speculation though... My lancer's cvt couldn't deal with with 3 years and 60,000 miles of college commuting before its first of TWO cvt failures.

Yea that's too weird man!! Believe it or not I had one 08 rall with the cooler, and now I have another rall with it and this ES without it and all of them were bought here in Florida,, the ES 2011 has 100035miles and thank God the cvt is working great but I still don't understand why some models in some areas bring the cooler and some others don't.

Thanks anyways my friend...
