Oil light comes on after oil change

Why is the oil light coming up after oil change and goes away after giving it a little bit of gas.

Probably low oil pressure at idle or bad sending unit

Probably the oil pressure sensor. I have a 2006 and my oil pressure sensor went out last year. It's a easy fix. Just change it on your next oil change. The oil pressure sensor is near the oil filter. Be sure to use some Teflon tape when installing it.

Don't adjust the idle at the throttle body. You can only do that in service mode or you'll mess with your IAC valve. Just replace the oil pressure sending unit and see if that fixes it.

Got it! thanks for the head up, but would that cause the engine to stall out?

No it wouldn't, what else is going on besides the light? How low are your rpms going at idle? Is it an erratic idle? Car tuned or anything?

I actually cleaned out the MAF, IAC and the TB which stopped the stalling. I got the oil pressure sensor but can I do that at any time or do I have to dump out the oil that I just changed?

Also, what do you use to remove and install it, a socket bit and what size?

I would do it at a oil change. I think just a crescent wrench will do the job? It's pretty simple. Unplug the old sensor, unscrew the old sensor, and install the new sensor.Be sure to pull your battery cable to get rid of any check engine codes. Like I said be sure to use some sealant on the thread when installing the new sensor.
