Coolant flush?
If anyone has done the 30k service themselves (Urban?), did you flush the radiator? If so, is there a recommended coolant to use when refilling?
yea at 30K you should flush cooling system and transmision, as far as coolant to use... i dont know, maybe just ask mitsubishi, or just pick up some coolant, lol, i dont think it matters, coolant is coolant

Yeah, I figured. I was just thinking about the tranny fluid thread - people had suggestions for the best fluid to use. Just figured I'd see if anyone had advice on coolant.
Just use the regular coolant, not the modern orange GM coolant. BTW: the dealership doesn't have some sort of "magic" coolant.
As for tranny, if you have auto, you don't worry about it until the 45-50K mark. 65-75K mark is the latest.

I'd like to know this as well, as I plan on flushing my own coolant. btw, use distilled water (more rust resistant), and I plan on having a service center flush it at 60k because they also do a pressure test. Can never be too careful with the radiator in Cali!

On my wife's Saturn there is a plug on the radiator itself and one on the engine. When I went to do my fluid exchange in October I could only find the plug on the radiator...
So, how do we get the fluid out of the engine? There's got to be a better way than splicing that stop**** inline... did I just not see the other plug?
thanks guys!
EDIT: I don't effing believe that this stupid new filter actually edited the **** out of stopc0ck buncha BS.... and when did this filter thing start, anyway?

We actually had a big discussion about that before Mark implemented it, discussing possible words that would be censored needlessly. I don't think this one came up. But at least we can type blow off valve

coolent should be 50/50
half water and half coolent. you drain it from the bleeder. then you drain it from the block. to get all the coolent out. you fill it up with 50/50(you can mix it yourself or buy the premix and dont need to add water) fill it up.n let the car run so all the bubbles are out. keep squeezin the hose till the bubbles are out.n keep checkn ur resevor...fill it up wen the fluid level goes down.should use the whole gallon.

i forgot where the bleeder screw for the block but its sumwhere behind the radiator..jus follow the hoses.
30k,check your fluids..same with your tranny,if it smells burnt or discolored, should change it.not too sure bout the power steering. but i would check it ne way as well.you wouldnt want old fluids runin in ur system

all you need is one gallon..............don't use the whole gallon. but fill it up with the funnel. till it kinda pours out. then fill it up in the resevor. let the car run and check for bubbles. n squeeze the top radiator hose till the air bubbles are out. let it run for lke close to an hour. so it cyles thoroughly.
check the resevor. if it close to empty or not on the line. fill it up again. n keep checkn for bubbles. you dont want to run your car if it has air bubbles. it will jus F* it up. my car kept jerkin on my 89 civic wen i frst did it. forgot to let all the air out . hahaha
