Greddy Exhaust

I just talked to customer service person on the phone from Greddy and he said they are in the process of making an exhaust system for the Lancer. He could not give me a release date but said it should be out within the next 2-3 months. Just thought I'd share the great news with everybody.

I asked about exhaust system. I assumed they meant cat-back exhaust when they said it was under development but I wouldn't doubt if a header would be available too.

I doubt the greddy will be a full exhaust. More than likely it will be a catback. I believe they refer it to full exhaust due to the fact that many honda exhaust setups only consist of the rear section, and not a complete catback.

Seeing how Greddy makes some of the best exhuast systems, if not the best, I'm sure their Lancer exhaust will be as good as they come.

You can wait a long time for Greddy for Lancer. My friend has been waiting forever for his WRX exhaust. It is a lot of cash too. Like $570. I would just get the RRM exhaust. Greddy stuff will be nice but $+$+ plus if they say 3 months, it is more like 6 months.!

I disagree. Where I come from, the GrEEdy exhaust is pretty much considered crap (that is, for DSMs anyway. who cares about honda).

Most of the DSMers ended up makin their own, having RRE make one, or getting a Thermal R&D catback. Reason? Um, because stainless pipe is stainless pipe, no matter if it has a Greddy or a Home Depot or JC Whitney logo on it, and a muffler really just changes sound.. Most hiflo mufflers do about the same job, so what you really are paying for is the sound, and at a pretty hefty premium.

My DSM had 400 dollars worth of exhaust, and it was a complete turboback... I couldn't see paying 500+ for a catback, especially for a NA car that won't really reap much benefit anyway.

well its not the fact that its good or bad... greddy is supposed to a very respectable company... and other companies will see that greddy makes products for the lancer... they will want part of the game... and... cuz of supply and demand.... and the parts for lancer is in high demand right now... other companies will start making products... which means .good news for us....

I've had my Lancer for a year now and have had to wait for aftermarket parts. If Greddy says 3 months and its here in 6, oh well, I've got a five year loan on my car anyway. I was just excited that he said it was under development because when I called them like 6 months ago they said they had no plans at the moment to make anything for the Lancer. Now we should start seeing other companies produce more parts as well. And as for people who say it's better to just buy any muffler and have a shop do the custom pipes for you, I think is only good if you are tight on cash. Because if your paying only a couple hundred dollars for a full 2.5 inch catback, it's probably press bent, not madrel bent like Greddy, despite what they tell you. I'm not saying it's bad to get a custom catback done, but if you have 5 or 6 hundred to drop on an exhaust, I would definetely do it on a company like Greddy.
