Installed Injen short ram intake

This is my first time dealing with these. It was quite an easy install. Made sure all clamps were tight. Heat shield in place.
Started the car up. Sounded the same as before. My only thought that my car runs...good.
Took the car out for a test. Got to a street where I could open it up. Now my Lancer before went "purrrrrr" when I excelerated. Now it goes "grrrrrrrr". I like the "grrrrrrr". To my expectations and the reason why I purchased it, was the slight increase in horsepower and smoother acceleration. Not a whole lot increase, but very noticable.
I recommend any Lancer owner to have one.

My service engine light DID NOT come on. Did you disconnect the AMS harness and disconnect the battery before installing? If not, disconnect both wait a few minutes, reconnect and see what happens.

I don't know if this has something to do with my new intake or if it was there before and I jsut now noticed it, but I don't think my speedometer is accurate. It seems to jump up and I think it is showing that I'm going faster than I really am by a couple mph. I'll have to get somebody to drive next to me and test out if I'm going as fast as the other guy....or speed and get a cop to ask me "Do you know you were doing 90?"

I don't have a camera top take pics else I would take some

ya i know huge rims change it, havent really heard people complain with 17's.

Also for the SES light comming on - yes, first make sure everything is plugged in correctly, then if so, take off your negetive side of your battery for aprx. 10 mins or a little more , then hook it back up and then start her up and let her idle for 10 mins or so, then take er' for a spin for like 10 mins and see if that helps.

I know my SES light did not come on with my intake, so sorry, not sure why that could be.

That's why when you put larger wheels on a car, you use lower profile tires. Keeping down sidewall size prevents a major variation in spedometer readings. Normally, you'll experience a 2 to 3 MPH change when upgrading wheels.

As for the intake, unplug the battery for 20 minutes to reset the ECU. Also verify all vac hoses are nice and tight. Make certain you didn't damage the MAF honeycomb, of you're off for a nice expensive repair.

thats a strait up lie.

Yes they were right about the cold air, Cold Air Intakes in general will not fit on our AUTOMATIC LANCERS, but a short ram will.

SO, if you are auto - just keep it with a short ram intake, any will do.
