Question Needs Feed Back

Well, I'm having a 2000 lancer GLXI (4G92 Engine). It's 1600cc, 16V, fuel injection. It's also has K&N intake, 2" catback & SS 3" muffler... I wondered how does the following parts will effect the performance of my car:
1- Fuel regulator
2- Headers
3- Crank pully

I need the feed back please

K, a fuel regulator will allow you to take advantage of intake /exhaust mods by pushing more fuel to go with the added air flow, the header will aid the intake in getting air into the block, you should maybe get a bored out T.B. to go with the header also. A lighter/stiffer crank pulley can turn the crank faster with reinforced materials usually being lighter which loses weight and adds rigidity to the engine. Or I am wrong..but not far off.

I have no idea, alone the fuel regulator wouldn't give too much hp gain, the headers and crank pully would yield some, the headers being much more significant, but then the fuel regulator would become even more integral to keep enough gas pumping through the injectors to match the air. Each mod would have a snowballing effect in hp gain, think compound interest.

P.S. don't shoot me.

If you're that worried about individual numbers for each mod by itself, go find a shop with a dynometer.

As for the crank pulley, by either a) reducing it's diameter, b) lowering it's rotating weight or c) combination of the two, you're making the engine do less work freeing up more power for the wheels. (Kinda like knife edging the crank but that's another and significantly more expensive story).

Pimp said it right about effects being a snowball. They're never cumulative (5HP + 3HP=8HP) but it's all dependent on how well the individual mods work with each other.

EDIT: http://www.boostaholic.net/phpBB2/index.php <---become a member of or start lurkign around the Mirage forums. You'll find a lot more useful knowledge their about your engine than you will here.

auto performance is a tricky thing, and every engine is different (even of the same model). So there's only one way to know how much HP these things give your specific car: dyno it before, and dybo it after.

1) fuel regulator: for your mods you wont see any significant gains. Maybe 1-2hp to the wheels.

2) headers: replaces your exhaust manifold and helps with the evacuation of exhaust gases. Maybe 6-8hp to the wheels if your lucky, would also depend on how restrictive your stock piece is.

3) pulleys: oversized pulleys slow down the rate of your driveline driven parts ie. alternator, powersteering etc... Like Pjal said it frees up horsepower from parasitic losses. Maybe 4-6 hp to the wheels.

But ultimately every engine is different and hp gains or losses would vary.

Thanks guys, your feed back was really usefull..
What other thing can be added on my car to get more HP.. I really don't worry how much I'll pay for it, but also I don't want to damage the engine.. So what you suggest..?
