Need Help Fast, Cam Issues
i am installing my stage 2 cam and valve springs. i have hit a snag, how do i get the valve springs in the back off? i have been using this valve spring comprssor that works like a fancy corkscrew. its too big to fit behind and round the spark plug tubes. so if anyone knows how to get those out or something that would be great. or if anyone knows of a different type of spring compressor i could use that would also help. anything at this point because i can't move on until i get those 8 springs out.
thanks
alex

I Wish I could help you but to my knowledge there is no tool as such small enough.
You could try removing the spark plug tube which is removeable or the alternative is which is what we do ourselves is actually remove the head which is not a huge amount of work and do it on a bench.
Sorry I couldn't help you much there.

ok mitsiman, i got those out and i cut my tool to make it smaller lol it worked great!!! how do i install my cam now?? i need that bad. i did biy it from rpw aka YOU!! help me out dude!!
Camshaft is easy to insteall - remove the rocker gear, slide teh camshaft out backwards and then simply re -insert the new cam in and tighten down your rocker gear.
Being hydraulic liftes you willl need to collapse teh lifters and then let them pump up again to take up the clearance.
Just take it nice an easy

oh not to worry i am and i am also writing the most in depth instructions ever made with lost of pics!!! i am very excited and the products i got are top quality no doubt!! i had a mechanic look over everything today and he made me explain everything i did so he knows i did it right. i don't want my car to blow up lol. its all ready for the testing tomm nite at IRP (indianapolis raceway park) i will tune my computer all day tomm for driving and then tune it using the 1/4 as a dyno to get a more accurate way of doing it. best i can do until i go to an acutal dyno.
if you want to crank your car w/o firing it up, disconnect all your plug wires. Just paranoid from banging up the valves.
Did that to a friends GSX after installing a new CAS and another friend's G93 (rebuilt after spinning a rod bearing from old age).
