Junk in the trunk (the battery that is)

Now...with a huge iron block ahead of the front axels on this car, weight distribution for the Lancer leaves much to be desired. One thing to slightly alleviate that problem (and maybe give you some working room in the bay) would be the relocation of the battery to the trunk. Found a read on it from the 'rage guys and wondering if anyone really would want to give it a shot.

hmm you think it would make that much of a difference? that is an interesting thought though... i might try... i dunno how i could prove that it works though... would be nice for a better intake setup

I've dreamed of having a second car and taking out all things cept the batter. (alternator, serpentine belt, pulleys) Have a friend with a late 80's GTI he auto x's that is stripped this way, you have to flip a switch to turn on the fuel pump and one for the ignition...gotta love it.

Tell ya what, if the weather is as nice this weekend as it was today and the mounting is as easy as it looks I will try.

Bootiful. I'd do it myself but electrics is not one of my areas of expertise. I figure it's a low buck mod that will just get some weight out of the nose.

I relocated the battery to the trunk. It is not that hard, but to do it right it can be a bit costly. If you do it, you should really get a dry cell battery that cant leak etc.

I use an odyssey 925. In my case I relocated the battery so I could straighten out the intake pipe, and get cooler air.

it's really not that hard when I watch my friend do it for me....(He owns a car stereo shop) He said the costly part is getting GOOD wiring and not settling for the cheap stuff. and definitely investing in dry cell, get rid of stock battery. I'm trying to make an encasing (sheet metal) but still stuck on a design.... on side note.. R33 Skyline actually comes with battery in the trunk! STOCK!
