1st Maintenace Visit

I'm scheduled for my first maintenance visit for my lancer and when i called my dealers service dept. they said it would be 30$ for the oil change or 69$ for full service maintenance...My question is what does the 69$ service entail....and have any one of you fellow lancer owners gone through with this..Please let me know, I would appreciate any input

Eh...that's ridiculous. Mine was free. I seem to remember seeing Ramsey auto group license plate frames on your car too. Glad I didn't get mine there. (The salesperson I had was a moron). I dunno why they're charging for your first maintenance.

Actually I had such a bad experience with the Ramsey Auto Group that I'm not taking my car for service there. I'm taking it to Bell Mitsu. in Rahway. I called Ramsey after I shceduled the appointment with Bell...just to see if they would charge me, and they pretty much gave me the same estimates...
What dealer did you use?????

Salerno-Duane Mitsubishi on Communipaw Ave in Jersey City. Not the greatest neighborhood, but a friendly dealership as far as my experiences went. Their service department is separate from the dealership.

I've never had such a horrible time with any other car company. I've owned a Toyota a BMW a Nissan and My Infiniti, and I have never had such a horrible experience. I know that it may not be a reflection of Mitsubishi as a whole but it has really turned me off to the car company. I can't see myself ever buying a Mitsubishi again.

What kind??

Speaking of maintenance. In your opinion, what is the best kind of oil to put in our Lancers?

The black slippery kind that lubricates engine parts? Oh...wait...you mean viscosity wise and what not...

10W-30 full synthetic...it's expensive but man is it nice. 5W-30 if you live where it gets really chilly.

That's too bad

This is my second mitsu and I have not had the same service problems you speak of. oil changes have always been around 30 dollars. I paid 37.45 for my first oil change. I bought the premium one. Prices have gone up slightly since I had the Mirage but if you want a car to last you have to maintain it no matter what vehicle it is. You have to get to know the service people I guess by regular maintenance.

Sorry you feel that way but goodluck with your new car.

Warranties

You bought what extended warranty?

I paid for the 5/year 60,000 mile one.
I have to check into that.

Sorry to hear it. Aside from waiting forever for the distributor I've had nothing really unpleasant. Good luck with...whatever you get. I hear Civics are nice cars.
