30,000 Maintenance...

Hey guys,

I lost my maintenance book for my car...but I'm due for the 30,000 mile maintenance. Could someone on here list everything that's included in that (under severe maintenance schedule)? I called the dealership and they told me it would cost 600 bucks for 30,000 mile maintenance and they would need the car for 4 hours...should it really cost that much?

No! Don't do that. Do it yourself if you can. Just dug mine out and heres the 30k maintenence:
-Check fuel system for leaks(tank, pipe line and connection, and fuel tank filler tube cap.)
-Check condition of fuel hoses
-Replace air cleaner filter
-Replace drive belts (for generator, water pump, power steering pump)
-Check and service exhaust system(connection portion of muffler, muffler pipes and converter heat shields)
-change oil
-oil filter
-change manual transaxle oil
-change transfer oil
-check reserve tank fluid level(for ACD)
-change coolant
-Inspect coolant hose condition(radiator and heater hoses)
-Inspect rotors/pads
-check brake hose condition
-Inspect ball joint and steering linkage seals for grease leaks and damage
-Inspect suspension (looseness and damage)
-Inspect driveshaft bolts
-change rear axle oil with limited slip diff.
-rotate tires
-Replace air purifier filter

Basically just change your engine oil and filter, your transmission oil, and your transfer case/differential fluid. Keep up on your brake pads(Hawk HPS are cheap). Make sure nothing's leaking and check over the obvious stuff. Should be good to go!

I'll do it for $598.99 in three hours

Seriously, you can do all of this stuff yourself. There were several discussions going around a few weeks ago about fluid changes. That is really the most intense (and expensive) part, but it's not hard.

How about changing the accessory belt? I don't think there is any info about it. I understand that having a special pulley loosening tool really helps. This is the only thing I have not done on the 30k service. Just seems like a real pain with about a inch of space between the frame and the motor...damn transversally mounted engine
