I noticed on my way to work here, that when I floor it and it shifts from 2nd to 3rd. 3rd gear starts at about 3,700 rpm , not to far from 4,200 rpm...im assuming that thats what does us in?

So we can change the gear ratio? or just the final drive? I was thinkin since 3rd gear is so bad in our auto like u said that might be able to help it out. what about that lsd? and shift kit, would those do us any benifits? or would it just be easier to swap a manual trans.
=====================================

The Mirage w/ a G93, lancer, and the 3g eclipse w/ a G64 have the same tranny code. The mirage and lancer should have the same gear ratio as a cost saving measure from Mitsu. I'm not sure on the gear ratio for the 3g eclipse, but they have a slightly different mounting points than us.

I'm not too sure for any corrective measures for the 3rd gear bogging effect for auto tranny, the nature of the beast. On my past setup, LS coupe's 3rd gear floated in the early 3K rpm range, took almost forever comparing to burning through 1st and 2nd gear.

Changing gear ratio or final drives will cost just as much as getting Level 10 Tq converters. The hardcore WRX guys do this after grinding few teeth off their manual tranny. I'm not aware of those WRX auto tranny guys.

LSD - you might need to ask Boe. There is only 1 mirage guy who has one n the entire US since 97, and it's a different product than RRE/RRM. The debate for LSD can be a heated one. I'll find a link on such past debate.

Shift kits would be a lot easier than swapping a manual. A few of gurus are behind on the times, and we are trying to convince a few auto TC mirage to get one to see its results. I'll talk to a memeber on my board.

Does it fly right as fast as 1st or 2nd gear? My G93 auto had a different experience since I can tag 6750 fuel cut or 6500 redline.

I just read that whole thread on lsd, really good stuff.

So lemme ask you this, Either this phantom Lsd or RRM would it work on an auto tranny?

How is dude, doing with his lsd?

And Im thinking if we put either lsd in our cars, we wont have to worry about spyder gears breaking until we get around 300 hp?

estimate, how much hp will it actually help get to the wheels?

Either LSD should work. You might have to talk to those retailers.

DIM has somewhat dropped off the face of the earth in Washington or Oregon (can't remember). I can email him to come post back. He kinda busy with life and high tech schooling. It might take a week or so.

Since the mirage board is down for the count somewhat, I can't contact with the mirage owner trying to get a shift kit for auto tranny. He had a link to a site.

goals -- hrm

I'd just like to have my car look nice and not fall to pieces before it's paid off. Of course in the process, I'll do some stuff to it. Have the JDM headlights on order right now, looking to get SRI, TB, IM, Header back exhaust in the next year

3. Headers and custom CAI
4. Piggy Back
5. Stage 2 Turbo and a torque converter
6. Finish my Interior.. W/ auto paint (rio red n Black) maybe some sparco seats or i'll just buy black leather interior

Thats what boe told me baha.

Don't know the cost . . . look at the bottom of the link for the 3 companies that are selling them.
