Talking Yo. Another OZ owner here for you to rag on.

So, it's not an EVO. But it was inexpensive, looks cool, cheap to insure, and cheap on gas.

I shopped around for more than a month. Civic? Ugly and everyone has one. Civic Si? My god, its a mini-mini van. Celica? If I wanted a spaceship, I'd buy a spaceship. Sentra? No thank you. I could go on, my point is that that this is a cool little car that stands out in its class and doesnt look stupid.

120hp? well, we can fix that... I have added the Ryhs Millen Racing (RMR) Intake and exhaust system. I'm guessing 15-20hp gain. This car zips, and I hope to make it zippier as more aftermarket crap comes out.

So they couldn't spring for 16"s from the factory? Ah well, I'm saving up for some 17"s. OZ F1 cups or Konig SubZeros. Something along that line.

Suspension? Stock is "OK". Added the RMR upper front strut tower brace. Stiffened it right up. Lots more fun is being had now.

Where the hell can I get springs or coilovers for this damn thing?!?!? No one makes them yet!!!!

100watt stereo? Well, I'll just toss that in the rubbish...
Rockford Fosgate:
RFX-9300 Head Unit
Fanatic Q compoments 5.25" front and 6" rear
500.2 Sub amp
600.4 4ch amp
1-12" HX2 sub in a Virtual Technology vented box.
4awg power and ground wire.
Amps are mounted in spare tire well covered by plexi - I will try and get some pictures up of this install - It took over 20hrs to complete all the wiring and trunk set up.

Well, I hope all the EVOs can help us OZs out. They are two totally different cars, but share the same name - so help out your little bros.

It's probably like Comptech (for Hondas) where the dealer has to setup a contract with them. Your dealer probably hasn't done that yet. You can probably order directly from RMR.

Well, 120 to the crank means about 86-90 hp to the wheels. max 100rwhp, and there is no way you will get 15-20hp gain to the wheels from just i/e, esepcially if it's not a cold air intake. I would buy 99 or 2000 Civic SI if I had to choose between the 2, it's aroung the same price, but at least you'll get about 135 rwhp out of a Civic. And the B16 motors are mod friendly big time, it has been proven. And you mention the Celica, well, it's not even in the same class as a Lancer, u really can't compare those 2 cars. Good luck with ur car.

Hey UNHDude,
We will have to meet up sometime. I grew up in Durham. I live in VA, but frequent back there. In fact I was just there a couple of weeks ago.
No one here is going to rag on you for your car. I think they are darn good cars if you overlook the HP (which is not what they were made for).

why does everyone on this board hate on the oz it might be slow and everything now but when parts come out it willl be a nice little runner. civic si if i wanted to be like evey other 16 year old out there i would have bought one but i take pride in doing thins that no one has done yet. so its not an evo so what you can still make this thing a car not to be messed with by adding a turbo and i/e. make it faster then you can brag that you did not bought it that way.

thanks

Welcome UNH dude, I give you props for buying the lancer, I have one and I love it, Its not perfect, but its mine. I hate the civic Si it looks horrible, and everyone and there brother has a civic, I like my car because in all of Western Mass me and my friends have only spotted 4. Take a 15 minute drive and you will see at least 100 civics (if you live in a highly populated area) The comment on the Mazda MP3, I have to say its a nice car, but try and find one, if you go to a dealer, as I did, you will hear, sorry we are all out, kind of like the SeR's right now. I would also like to know where you got the RMR equipment though, I sent the website 3 emails and they are not replying. And my local dealership hasn't the slightest, IF ANYONE KNOWS, PLEASE FILL ME IN. THANX

Uhhh, I guess I should have noticed Chicopee on the info to the left of your message

Anyway, that's real close, did you get your lancer at Houser Mitsu?
I'm not too familiar with Chicopee... I'm a grad student at SC, and I've only lived here for a year and a half.
