I like the car, but it would look 10x better with some other rims. I know it is your choice, but in my opinion it reminds me of when I drive through downtown Detroit and everyone has the 20'' rims on their rusted out Cadillac's. If you went with some 17x7 Enkei's or Motegi's, that would be one bad a$$ ride.

I didn't know the person has enough resources to make a rim in his "backshed". Otherwise, you're giving him too much credit.

come on guys you're being too hard on him. if you can't get away with "bling" in vegas, where the hell can you get away with it? they're not my thing either, but it's not my car and i understand why he did it that way. so i'm cool with it, i'd roll with him anyday.

Obviously you havent seen these!!...

And before you ask.....I didnt make them in my back yard!

http://www.ronalusa.com/wheels/bear.html

And I did sport them on the Lancer, from day one! I brought them with me to the dealer and had the service dept. put them on before I drove it off the lot!....
(that is a joke, for you slow-witted people out there) ...no offense!...

Ill pass on the cookie cutter $35000 Mitsu, thank you. (No offense to the EVO owners just my opinion) I only bought this one because it was a decent price and I got the 0/0/0 deal. I do like the look of the car and havent had any mechanical issues with it yet, so I like it even more. If I was going to drop EVO $$ on a car I wouldnt buy one of those.....just me. I would just buy a Integra type of car and drop in a monster motor, that would have the same kind of warranty that the EVO would have after you even put an exhaust on it, and still have $$ left to buy a Galant to ride in alot more luxury and plushness too!

I love the performance of the EVO but not the Mitsu support behind it (read warranty voiding.... ) but personally If I had an EVO I would do similar things to make it different.

If you didnt get it from the beginning, I am trying to be different.

Thanks for your opinion!.....

Thanks.....but if I had different style rims I would be just like any other Lancer out there with a Ken style kit....oh wait.....I think I am the only one with a Ken stlye kit right?? But seriously, I wouldnt be against changing them if I found another set I liked. Its just that I hate seeing that UGly drum in the rear with a more open rim. Most "racing style" rims are the tuner or multi spoke wheel that I am TRYING to stay away from. Now if I had a nice big rotor back there I wouldnt be hiding it with these wheels.

I got the fenders from a local perfomance shop that did my repairs from the theft damage. I have seen them on EBay too though. If you are interested, I can ask the shop where they got them from. Let me know.

Thanks for the support though.

Case in point, the door line. If you start from the front of the car it's all looking smooth then BAM, there's this new line that begins quite harshly at the door. From the back, the line is introduced smoothly, then it's gone right after the front doors... no warning, no exit music... just gone.

Maybe I'm **** retentive about bodylines... but they strike me in the wrong way. Other than that, congrats on having an original car. And if you're going to badge it as something else... Call it a Lexus.
Gotcha' !! I know it doesnt really match up, but I figured its a very small area near the lines you are referring to maybe what 6-8 inches between the wheel well and the front door ? A small price to pay for being different. Plus my boy wants to do the car show thing so I think about that when Im looking at things.
If I was going for a more subtle clean look I would definately agree with you.

And as far as BAM with out the warning, most people are already stunned from the rims... .

Yeah, I think I could pull off the Lexus badge ALOT easier than the Caddy one!...

Thanks for your non bashing support!

But I started this thread so keep em coming!

Thanks for your opinion....I do appreciate it. Thats what I started this for.
