Breathers? Quick question
Can you install these to any lancer (auto or manual)? Anyone have one, that could share what they do or sound like? And exactly what is that that it goes on top of? Like what is there as stock? and you can remove it w/o hurting anything? Here's a pic of what i'm talking bout.
okay.. i'm not 100% sure about what i'm goin gto say so don't quote me on this.. but i'm pretty sure it's very highly recommended you buy a breather if you have a cai becuase it lets the engine breathe if the filter of your cai is submerged into water.. meaning no hydrolocked engine. so yes, get the breather if you have a cai but no if you don't. it's pretty pointless if you buy one with a short ram intake because it would not be of any use...
oh, and btw, it does have a sound.. a high pitch sucking sound.

I talked about this with Boe (one of the leading authorities on the Lancer) a while back and he told me that it doesn't give you any power, but if you have turbo it helps keep oil from getting sucked into the intake from boost. Other than that, it's useless.
it does serve a purpose granted i'm taking evo here, but wdcross hit it right on the head aside from the sound part. If you look at buschur racing, they recommend you get one when you purchase an intake too. It's not just pointless
