well, its going to be a year off or so. this summer, i'm concentrating on building up the tranny, then saving up for the turbo, so don't get too worried vince

yeah, i already talked to a dyno shop in my area, and they can tune the emanage (how i'm going to be handling tuning stuff)

So now we're breaking it down by transmission? Alright then. I jsut hope after wednesday I have enough room in my avatar for:
FOUNDER
4G94 NA MT
15 Sec Club

What's next? Car color? Type of Forced Induction? Type of intake (SRI or CAI)

I'm not hatin. Aren't most drag cars (like funnycars) autotranny? I seem to recall having heard that somewhere. Something about not beaing able to shift and keep the car going in a straight line at the same time

you find them off of old 4G93 1.8L Mirages.

Is it as good? No. it's much much better than a ported G94.

man, eboy's jealous of our awesome autos LOL

but you gotta admit dude, auto sucks for a few reasons, mainly launches, shifts and power loss

after we rebuild the tranny, as i plan on doing, will we be as good as the manual? sure, i don't see why not, but until then we suck (except for turbo cause apparently autos are in the "boost" range more than manuals)

you can always manually shift your auto- especially if you just plan to rebuild anyway.

like I said, if you're rebuilding the torque converter and other parts that take manual shifting abuse, then I don't see a problem... but then I just finished another head swap, so there's really not much I'm afraid of on this car

Isn't it? Actually, it's more like an erector set Everything's running fine- I just have some obnoxious lifter tick that doesn't seem to want to go away.... but that's another thread.

Darn lifter tick. If you ever figure out how to make that go away, let me know. Heck, I'd probably buy the solution off of ya.

i think eboy means something different, cause he basically rebuilt his head (ported head, camshaft and gear) so his problem might be something else

the stock lancer has horrible lifter tick, but usually goes away once its warmed up a bit

but i hear the makers of the "y2k chip" for your computer are working on a "anti lifter tick" chip for the lancer. it will be easy enough to install, just splice a few wires into your tick-o-meter ecu, and connect a vacuum hose to your tick-pump, and voila! no more tick
