Problems with rear license plate lights.
Problems with rear license plate lights.
I checked everything including the obvious (bulbs, voltage, harness connection) but i have no power going to it and i was thinking about going to the dealer to try to buy a replacement harness but who knows how much that will cost. Any suggestions?.
you know i was wondering that because i thought it had to do something with me changing out all the lighting to led's but i put in original lights and the same problem. i was wondering if there was specifically a fuse for it. none of mine are burned out. and the harness is in good condition.
Check ALL of your fuses. There is a fuse box under by your feet, one in the engine compartment, ....and maybe one more, not sure. Check the little tiny filaments of the license plate bulbs too. I just replaced mine with LED's. Those little filaments broke when I took my bulbs out of the license plate light holder. If you are using LED's, make sure you have them in properly. It DOES MATTER which way they go in, there is a Positive and Negative terminal to LEDs. Keep your light switch on the steering wheel on the middle one so just your little marker lights on the headlights light up, your brake lights light up, and license plate lights. Then put back in the license plate lights. Maybe try jiggling them to see if the little connector wires might be off center to the contacts. With my LED's I had to experiment and line up the contact wires to get them to work perfectly.
u said above that u checked the voltage, is there voltage going to the harness?? If not then its gotta be a blown fuse or cut wire. If u have the wiring diagram then just follow that back and see what fuse it connects to. If u dont have the wiring diagram pm me and ill try to email it to u tomrw
